DDOS'ing, Why do they do it?

As the subject, why do people DDOS the good people who can be arsed funding, putting up and maintaining PR servers? I mean really? I thought it was a more mature crowd playing this almost 20 year old game? Wouldnt it be more fun hitting dayz, rust, pubg, fortnite servers instead? Or do they too have their own issues with weird people wanting to fuck them up?
