Damn straight, but people again loose sight of the actual topic. MEC with different guns was discussed for years in their own separate topics.

I would suggest an INF layer, no helicopters, no aircraft carrier in play, x3 M113 vs x3 MTLB. Maybe IDF vs RUS or something.

One more thing that recently came into a debate is bluefor repair station, that can be accessed by redfor. It should be better protected by DoD+walls or even moved up to F1.

Repair station shouldn't be delayed too, as is the case now.

I agree on all points. While it's a fun throwback to infil into enemy bases to sabotage assets(and drop mines). This aint vanilla bf2 no more.

Going back to alternative layers. I'd love for muttrah to become a true and proper urban cqb map. It's asking for it. AK47 vs AK47 faction would be the best. Maybe FSA vs Taliban? I know it's not realistic. But it would probably be the most fun and balanced IMO. Maybe make two new factions with completely mirrored weapons, vehicles, equipment and geometry. Say Insurgents Red Flag vs Insurgents Green Flag? You could use the old green Insurgent flag from bf2 special forces expansion pack. Aka the insurgents true flag. Just give each team appropriately colored armbands like you gave the syrian rebels. Keep people guessing. Can you imagine the chaos? I can. It's giving me a hard on.

Delay is removed and vehicle depot will be in DOD for next release.

What ever happened to the old layer? The current layer feels off. Almost like it was designed to be halfway between the old layer and an infantry layer. Dont get me wrong, the infantry combat is vastly improved. But it just doesn't feel like muttrah. I'm not an asset whore so it feels strange for me to say this; But I kinda miss the old layout. It just felt like muttrah. Maybe dont bring back so many assets, but do at least give back to the marines their LAV. And give mec a transport apc, maybe boragh or mtlb with the .50 cal? Also please do add a proper infantry only layer. Maybe iron sight factions? Not usmc and mec though. Maybe insurgents vs russia? Ideally I'd prefer some ak faction vs ak faction, action. Muttrah is perfect for such combat. Maybe Insurgents vs Russia. It be an interesting concept to explore.

You could drop limited mini-updates where it cycles different variety of layers at quick time intervals for a map or two.

I really like the ideas of taking maps we all know every bit of, and flipping it upside down in some way. I think it makes it interesting to players that have been on here a while.

Like 4 layers for Mutrrah for 1 month, then drop a totally different set of layers the next.

Do it a number of times to go through most ideas for layers, and let the community feel out what is more popular layer types.

This would also keep it "fresh" and interesting to jump on a server running Mutrrah (or whatever older map you want).
