New Maps feedback, Zakho, Damascus, Etc

Post by dcm »

Zakho: Best new map. Big city with low rooftops, perfect for cqb. Lots of fun for vehicles and inf. Although mec iron sights on insurgency? Come on really? I'd love a RUS vs MEC layer though, just like kafr and beirut.

Damascus: Too big for inf. Feels like a squad map. Heli spawns at off map airbases is stupid. Yes I know helis can resupply at main, but it takes a while to enter the combat area. Move heli spawn to the main bases, keep jet spawn in off map airfields. Also the flag layout freaking sucks. No flow. Feels like a team has to fight on two-three fronts at once now.

Muttrah: Thank god you made the mountains dod. So now that combat is focused into the city part itself. But the flag layout still sucks. I'd love for an alt layer with current assets + old flag layout. Also the blufor dod is too extreme. Mec apcs can no longer get into the water at K9 rocks. Please give mec apcs another way to get into the water without having to expose themselves too long or them having to pull some weird *** moves.

Deagle5 and Shipment: Too easy to camp. Respawns need to be randomized like regular gungame maps.

Moon: Where the flat earth at? The sun is too damn bright. The vehicles need better adhesion to the lunar surface. While it's fun to E.T. on the moonbike. It's hard to control most other vehicles. Also why aren't grenades and rockets affected by the moon's gravity? Bullets I can understand. But hand tossed grenades having so much mass feels off.

Zakho really could use more layouts than just one for AAS. Especially considering current only one is pretty unbalanced with .50cal facing Scorpion, 30mm and BRDM. More factions and diffrent assets layout would be nice here.

Damascus: mixed feeling, textures at the map looks weird, too bright. Also current layouts except unbalanced Syrian one feels way too heavy on assets, addition of Infantry layer with lighter assets could help this map. Standard layout also is weirdly unbalanced imo with one side having 3x CAS including two seat bombers and heli against 2x CAS on other side with one fighter and one strike plane. That literally means 6 players required for CAS for IDF while for MEC just 2. Most of games i played so far on it ended up with IDF stomping MEC. Also no scope faction on 4km map feels just bad... as always.

Deagle5 and Shipment: like dcm said, those map currently feels like Skirmish map with those set spawn more than Gungame

Muttrah: thank You for finally dealing with literally half of teams being sniper wannabes at the mountains instead of playing inside town... however... where new layers? Current layer is still meh

Road to damascus is verry nice. I like shrubs ,,forests'' around the map, infantry can hide and move around relatively safely AND vehicles can go through so this space is potential for interesting gameplay/ ambushes. Visually is more sophisticated and shows progress of map designers in PR, you can see feedback being implemented, mainly :infantry accommodation on bigger maps.

So yes i want to say thank you too! For this 2 VERY AWESOME MAPS! My opinion is the same when it come to the factioning HOWEVER MUCH more different!

First of Zakho is a KURDISH town and belong to the autonomous region of the Kurdish part of Iraq. And there you will not find the Iraqi Army or the US army, that town is held by the Kurdish PESHMERGA which i belive should be the fighting faction against either the Iraqi army from the Invasion of Iraq or the fighting faction against the Jihadist and terrorist factions in Iraq. And i really do belive it is time for the kurds to have a faction of their own on the insurgency maps. And if the devs need information on them and such just contact me i am kurd from Iraq my uncles are all Peshmerga fighters from 20 years back spread over the 2 most famous peshmerga faction in the kurdish regions known as the PUK and the PDK. And the kurds when it comes to their clothing and style of fighting is very different from the iraqi army today. And Zakho is the one the most kurdish towns there are infact when isis tried to invade it the were replled so fact they US jets didnt have time to get to Zakho to help the kurds with the bombings on Isis bases because the peshmerga destroyed them before they had a chance to take a shit and i say that as a proud kurd!

Faction development does not work like.

If you want to see Kurds in game, you will most likely need to make it. Until then, other factions will fill gap when Kurd like faction is needed.

A idea about LARGE layout on Road to Damascus, Netherlands do not belong here.I understand that they are let be because they where on Bijar and with no Bijar in PR NL army had to be used somewhere. My porpousal is swap it for french army, they historically influenced Lebanon and Syria and theoretical reinvolvement can be imagined. NL army can be used on a NEW AAS map in a nonexistent balkan country against local Militia, NL participad in ,,KFOR'' so already more realistic than them being in Syria. Something similar to Dragon Fly but with NL having only Cv90( plenty Leo maps)1 km max 2km. OR if devs dont want to make any new maps and still want to see NL army swap german with dutch on Silient Eagle, IRL dutch land force are under German command.

PR is full of maps that are based on real locations but not all of them actually feature factions that you would expect to find in the area if an armed conflict were to happen there. For example, I haven't seen Norveigians on the Vadso City, Estonians on the (island of) Saaremaa or Finns on the Nuijamaa, just to pick some examples in the Nordics/Baltics region.

Bluefor on Zakho INS should get a serious buff. MEC fights an uphill battle as they don't have scopes there and their assets are trash.

Big yes, MECs need 3 T62 or 2 T72s1(thermals) its verry unbalanced to fight against TOWS(thermals) scoped HAT, 7 LATs, and mined bridges. MECs cant make in to the city because assets are choked on mined bridges and infantry cant snipe over the river enemies in the buildings. I played fair amount of Zakho INS, MECs won only once and because nobody where at the cache. Also why GAZA INS IDF has 800 tickets and 3 heavy armored thermal capable assets but Zakhos MECs are 700 tickets and old and blind assets?
