Get rid of Korengal Valley

Can't get around the map.

Spend so much time and effort getting around that the enemy simply kills you while trying to manuver.

Please delte this map and bring back a better map like Archer.

The challenge of this map is fun. There are tons of ways to survive provided by the maps terrain and teamwork. Get out of the low ground and into the mountains. The chopper should only use map edges. You can get to the highest point on map, maintain fire superiority, draw a lot of attention from the highest peaks behind Restrepo.

Lots of camouflage everywhere, don't be seen using it, going into camouflage, don't run by somebody using camouflage so you don't get them shot at and don't run into somebodies camouflage while actively being shot at.

For vehicles you need 2 or more in view of each other to divide the attention of RPG gunners. Its not 100% way for survival, but you increase your chances by using whatever cover/concealment available for the vehicle, rolling it slowly by tapping W and S to make RPG miss the vehicle hopefully and make it harder for .50 cal gunner to get sniped out. One vehicle hit per RPG spacing formation in view of each other

One man per piece of cover. Move cover to cover, use each other as bait and be bait for each other. As it happens as you get shot at. This way when getting shot at somebody can shoot back while you hold enemy attention. Stay in view of each other so you can see what is happening to each other, Taliban weapons make noise with no tracers. Suppress the sound of the gunfire.

Manage the forces, not only within your squad should squad mates save each other by being in view of each other. But other squads need to see you.

I see people make a lot of individual mistakes they blame on the game or map. Some are even in the simple loading screen tips, like seeing and being near a spot you can take cover suddenly as you move.

FUCK THIS STUPID *** MAP!

Impossible get around, unless you spam the space bar. Impossible to get anywhere, unless you have a chopper or spawn into it. So many fake paths that look like they lead somewhere but dont. Too easy to shoot into US main, even accidentally so. A tow or mg at restrepo can hit half the map. There is no way to get out of the river. You have to swim for very far and most likely get popped by an enemy waiting at the river bank. The cache locations are shit. Those that are in caves are nearly impossible. I've literally repulsed wave after wave of american invaders with a single machine gun in some cases. I felt bad. Because there's no way I should've been able to repel them for so long. In contrast non-cave caches are an easy gimme for blufor.

Yeah I don't believe this map is up to PR standards anymore. One of two things need to be done and I'd prefer the latter of the two

A complete re-do of the map to make it more playable (less jagged terrain add rocks in place of areas you want to be hard to get around, easier crossings at the river and probably an expansion to a 2km map instead of a 1km map. (Lowkey I can say the same about Fallujah west, it needs a 2km version 1km maps are not as fun as they use to be)) OR get rid of it until someone ddecides to do the first as it has less of a place in PR than Archer and jabal did it's borderline worse than Ghost Train.

Is it outdated? Perhaps. Is it fun? It sure is. Replace it with Archer? Hell no. You should refrain from replacing outdated maps with other outdated maps.

It does feel more outdated every release, and Kunar Province would fill the gap of the mountainous Afghan map if it was released, but on low-pop, like 30 v 30, Korengal is sort of peak immersion in PR. HOWEVER, something I have always wanted is for that map to be converted to a Vietnam map (if you have ever played Vietcong 2003, you know what I'm talking about). Change the tree assets, make it rain heavily, change the buildings to bamboo huts and such, make the river wider but able to cross on foot. Flood the poppy fields and turn them to rice paddies. Maybe move the main base back further so choppers are safe to take off and land. Give them an F-4 Phantom. Think the movie Platoon. Jungle fights on that map would be oppressive and intense.

Archer was fun as hell. The only problem was the lack of safe opfor paths outside their main. And no way to enter the castle from the inside. Personally I'd take archer over korengal anyday.

Agree with people on this one. Remove Korengal and perhaps bring back Bijar Canyons? Never understood why it was removed in the first place. There's really no other maps in PR in which the fighting takes places in mostly mountainous terrain, apart from Bamyan.

Couldn't the map be taken to the editor to do more work on it the jaggedness of the rocks? Even better, maybe allow very slow climbing up mountains with no more than 55 degree grade angle of steepness? We already move slower going up steep grades.

This could take away the need to jump where we see we can climb.
