Reducing Recoil (look inside first)
I was watching some videos and when soldiers are defending some place a lot of time they are crouched with their guns on something, be it sandbags, crates, walls, and it seems to give them better aim. So what I'm getting at is that could the engine be made to allow soldiers to place their weapons on something to steady their aim and give them better aimed shots? Would really increase the realism effect.

yes, that would be extremely cool, and the other way around too, take cover behind a wall and lift just your weapon over it firing from cover, and horrible recoil, just covering fire. although i doubt the engine will allow it...= (

I saw a video of Canadians in Afghanistan where a guy with a SAW stuck it around a corner with one hand on the trigger handle and the other hand on the carrying handle on top. He let out a few bursts like that before the camera cut somewhere else. I suppose there are some blind-fire procedures.
In the same video an Afghan soldier stuck his AK way over his head pointing over the wall and emptied his mag.

I will settle for having the PR dev's correctly set the view point as being the person's head, NOT in the middle of their chest. Crouched behind a wall yet still get headshotted? That's because your view point comes out of your chest, so the enemy still see's your head poking over the wall. Same reason you get killed while prone next to a wall. YOU think you are safely behind it, but the enemy see's your head/feet poking out.

No, the hiding beside a wall thing is not erroneous. Lay down beside a wall and stick half your head out the doorway. The edge of the wall will still be in your periphery. Same thing with the crouching behind cover, if you can see the top of the object when looking straight at it, then that means your forehead is sticking out.

Go test it out with a buddy. Get behind lets say one of the jersey barriers and crouch. It looks like you are fully behind the cover. But your buddy will still be able to see the top of your head. Same thing goes for being prone on top of a building. You back up enough so the enemy is out of view, but they can still hit you because your head is still showing.Griffon2-6 wrote:No, the hiding beside a wall thing is not erroneous. now thats probably because your eyes aren't on the top of your head.WNxKenwayy wrote:Go test it out with a buddy. Get behind lets say one of the jersey barriers and crouch. in the game your "eyes" are in the middle of your chest so you need to compensate when hiding.
Never gone prone unless the building is thick enough to conceal your legs, crouch instead.

i saw the same video, aperantly there was a guy hiding in a hole, and they wanted to flush him out. they even shot a couple grenades in, and the guy was still alive.
and afghan soldiers are just stupid, i had to teach one of them how to shoot, but at the end of the day, he died. oh well.

if the eyes are in the middle of the chest why is your view even with other character's heads?ArmedDrunk&Angry wrote:in the game your "eyes" are in the middle of your chest so you need to compensate when hiding.
