i know its been suggested before but just figured id follow up on them, for the insurgents their IED which is just the c4 pack, did someone create a new thing for this? Maybe just a small morter round? Somethings that isnt as noticable as a c4 pack on a sandy road ahahah :?

There was an IED model, but from what I hear, it was causing crashes in-game.

The real story is that Eggman accidently switched the coding of the IED with the coding of the nucle....

I went a little too far, anyway the IED caused a massive explosion which crashed everyones game.

But there are other things pertaining to IEDs in the works.

the model of the IED should just be rock or something, not a traffic cone, I mean, think about it, you driving in the middle of a desolate road in al basarah and you see a bright orange traffic cone in the middle of the road. hmmm... I wonder what that is... come on, a rock is much less suspicous looking, and can fit in anywhere

How about just a gray tube? Then it'll camoflage with the road.

i still think it should be like a mortar round since that is what they use in real life, you can put them by like bridges and stuff and wont be noticable, or by trucks and stuff, also those shitty pick up trucks should be able to resupply the insurgents with IED's...oh how i would love the insurgent faction then :)

Problem is you can't dig a hole in game, nor do explosions go through objects like they should...so that little thing metal railing next to a bridge will stop the explosive effects.

4 ieds in the alleyway on Street = 1 scared to death, actually dead british squad flying 200 ft in the air like ragdolls.

however I think that ieds need more power...

How about making the IED a small mound of dirt. Can't be too hard, then again I have no idea :) . That way it won't look too suspicious and is sort of realistic.

Also my take on IEDs, which I use a lot :D , I think they should just flat out be invisible, as they are in real life. Lets face it, we cant put dead animal carcasses everywhere. And, instead of multiple IEDs which everyone just puts down all at once, we should just have 1 extremely huge one. (thats invisible) IEDs still arent a big enough part of the game just yet.

Also, this may be a bit of a big suggestion, but I think vehicles should be slowed down when going offroad. Right now no one takes the road cause its longer and they dont prefer to take RPGs to the windshield.

Just have it as a tiny rock...

It is a way to realistically put it in using the engine's limitations....

A tiny rock? Eh, it seems like the size of the rock won't match the explosion. However the invisible idea sounds good, but maybe make them invisible but an off-white color, so an observant player could spot it and avoid it. Also don't make them disarmable. And for the clacker that detonates it howbout a Verizon fliphone? Oh my bad we're in Iraq its Verizooon.

But seriously make the clacker something different then the C4 detonator. I seriously believe that a cell phone would be a great detonator. "Dials" *something mumbled in Arabic* KABLAMM massive explosion map crashes. Person sets X52 presets to FSX and plays FSX until they crash upon landing.

yeah i love using explosives in the game, and yes they definitly need to be larger with the blast radius...the sad thing is that MOST of Canadians that have been killed in Afghanistan were from IED's and god damn Vbied's...cant beat us in a straight up firefight

As for the vehicles slowing down off-road, I don't know how much slower the HMMMV would be off road since it is an off road vehicle.

lol - erm, every single vehicle on the planet will be faster on a clean good road than on off-road terrain - it doesnt matter wether it is an off-road vehicle, it is still going to be slower
