Newbi Server?

I was wondering if there are any servers that are more for learning how to play PR, I was around when PR was getting off the ground, but I see alot has changed in a year. I don't want to get on a server and screw things up for my team or squad

have confidence! just get in a good squad and play smart. Ask questions, and dont take on any tasks you dont know how to do (IE dont pilot the little bird if you dont know how to land it EVERY time)

OKay, first advice is don't go into a server that says "noob" in it's title. They seem to have a large amount of people that think they can do and get away with anything at the moment, including lack of teamplaying or respect for their fellow players (even if they be on the other team!)

Which side of the US are you, then someone could advise on the names of the servers near you (or if you want to put up names of servers you see with pings of 30-80 would be good)

quieter servers are good times for more voip usage, learning how to kill first and making friends. Sometimes full servers can't have the excess voip spam, excessive mistakes and tend to be so fast paced you won't learn, just get a buzzing headache.

Providing you are using voip, joining up with squads with well known and decent players (don't take it personal if as a beginner you are dropped from a squad to make room for other experienced players) then you should get a fast track education in not only maps and kits needed for maps, but also you will learn the pace of movement that takes flags successfully in AAS.

I'd advise being medic (healing) or rifleman (ammo) in the majority of cases to win you notice. Maybe occasionally engineer or AT to provide useful skills where needed at certain moments.

Follow squads, don't stand on top of other player attracting fire, maintain reasonably quiet comms and movement sounds when necessary and learn by example!

join up in a squad and ask for help. If no help is offered, move on to the next squad. You'll bound to run into one of us who'll give you all the help you need.

Speak up. Like the people above have said, if you ask questions and follow orders you will learn fast and there are plenty of people who will help you along with little details.
such as: ammo bags must be thrown
revived wounded are still in need of the medic
practice flying in an empty server
Armor needs 2 people, tanks take time to load after switching pos.
ONLY spec ops has a parachute
supplies and Arty must be request by a squad leader
Do not crawl/walk onto field dressing. be within 1m
Join a squad and be near a flag/crate to request limited kits
and so on

Join the teamwork servers like glory south or west, join a squad if no one uses voip join another squad

Dont be afraid to ask

No one gonna cal you a noob for asking questions, actualy if you are asking ou are learning

you dont need VOIP to have a great round and kick some *** you just need a SL who does bear typage!!!!!!!! Tpying is almost as good becuase it means you cna clearly explain tactics and such, although you cant communicate instantly IF you are carefull where you type it is still a brilliant way to communicate!!

remember to keep an eye on the defensive strength of your team. it seems like a lot of the new players are attack only, and NEVER defend. this leads to my squad (consisting of really good, experienced players) having to defend 90% of the time. i dont mind defense in AAS because you'll almost always have a good flow of enemies, but sometimes the noob squads cant take the objectives that my squad could probably care of. i was once told after defending for 3-4 straight rounds while the rest of my team couldnt take ANYTHING:

me: "SQUAD 2...CAN YOU RELIEVE MY SQUAD ON DEFENSE SO WE CAN ATTACK?" (had to ask a half dozen times)
noob1: "if you want defense so bad, you do it."
me: "my squad has been doing NOTHING BUT DEFENSE FOR 3-4 ROUNDS!"

noob1 finds me on the map and TKs me...

so, keep an eye on defense at ALL times and get ready to defend whenever necessary. defense can be really fun, and it's a great way to get a good K : D ratio (with good positioning, of course). without defense, attacking is completely worthless...

Thors is full of newbs, for sure, but it's usually populated, and you can get some good experiences, too. I had my best teamwork round on Thors a couple of days ago. Great squadleader as well as the rest of the squad. His name was something like "duckfoot". Anyone know him? Only too bad the rest of the team wasn't up to scratch...

duckhunt is quite new to the team, i dunno about how long he was hanging around these forums thou before he joined up
