Laser designators
Now read this before you say engine can't do it...
Really for spec ops who are helping snipers or squads, we need a pointing device to shine a dot basically on the target.
It could be put on the pistol.
It wouldn't be visible going to the point, but where it is pointing at, you will see a red dot or something
How do I know this is possible? Sandbox. In sandbox there is a white circle that is shown coming from your pistol (reload it, watch it move around) It is visible to other players.
This would be great for squad leaders, snipers, spec ops, and spotters..
PS. If u have bf2 sf pm me I have a question....

yeah, I'd like to see something like that for both squad leaders and spec ops. And the reasons for giving it to those people would be:
SL: well obviously he is there to command the squad and tell them what to do. "move to this position", "enemy there", "watch that place" etc and then using the pointer thingy to show the location he is talking about. Would be very usefull. If possible make it so that he has to put it on, and preferably so that it would come from the rifle, so he could shoot if he needs to.
Spec ops: most often these dudes are the spotters, so it would be a great help for them when telling the sniper where the enemy is.

Visible laser aimpoint projecting sights are not favored by SOF, or by developed militaries in general, because they start to become a crutch for proper marksmanship skills, which begin to perish.danthemanbuddy wrote:Really for spec ops who are helping snipers or squads, we need a pointing device to shine a dot basically on the target.

PEQ-2/PAQ-4 target illuminators functioning like you described, as indicators to show your teammates where to fire, would be excellent for squad-leaders. However, they are invisible to the naked eye and can only be seen with NVDs.
Good suggestion and thanks for showing us people who have done it.

Another thing you can try with laser designation is to have it so when a spec ops holds his laser binocs, the jet passenger (F15s) can automatically lock on to the range target from the air to ground. You can use the laser guided missiles.
