I'm just going to post here and make this thread even more useless and say that I wish PR had Wake Island in it. With no jets, and the AAS would have all the flags on the island be in 1 capture group, except for airfield which would be captured last. This way the USA could choose which island tip to attack.

I guess I'm thinking that since everything in PR in terms of battles is hypothethical, why cant we have battles in the USA in small towns etc? Reminds me of an old Milton Bradley game called Fortress America. In that boardgame, Chinese forces invaded the west coast, the Russians at the east coast and south american coalition forces from the south.
Realism and fun aren't mutually exclusive.

Hailing currently from Fort Campbell, KY and spending many many a summer on my grandma's farm a little further north, I can honestly say Southern is a second language all its own from English.'[R-CON wrote:MacNeill_USA']Being originally from Kentucky....I don't think anyone outside of the US can muspel liak wee cun....LOL It just would not be real to see proper English on an American map

I wouldnt mind having a map in say San Diego. That way we can use the whole USMC vs China thing. China some how invades San Diego and Marines from Camp Pendleton move into Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego to push them back into the sea. That would be pretty fun. I've been wishing for a good USMC defending map kinda thing, they never do in any of these maps, but that would be pretty fun.

I am one of the resident " America defenders" and I don't think that it is unrealistic for the US to be invaded.
The problem is , as mentioned, the work involved to create new statics and maps for the US.
If the map is just generic and labelled US, it doesn't seem like it would be worth the effort, but if you included something specific like San Diego or the oil fields in Alaska it would be great.
A generic question: what is involved both in software and time, in creating new statics ?
Hopefully by springtime I will have an uber rig and would like to get involved in mapmaking and creating statics.

And as the windshield melts
My tears evaporate
Leaving only charcoal to defend.
Finally I understand the feelings of the few.

http://realitymod.com/forum/t13405-wip- ... base.html\
Ive seen Coronado IRL, there's a shit load of navy ships there, would be good target for a SF strike

I have been making a map that takes place in Southern California, at the Naval Air Station on North Island - Coronado, CA.
The idea is that either a Chinese Special Forces unit, or an insurgent special forces unit, have used a cargo ship to hide themselves and their equipment to sneak into the American coast, using also the help of payed off customs agents.. the cargo ship managed to make it into the ports undetected. Their planned day of attack? Christmas morning, a day of American felt security, and when the base is at it's skeleton staffing.
The base is defended by the elite Navy SEALs unit, who's HQ is made at Coronado as well.
The map itself is a close-to-scale emulation of the real base.
