Russian Community Cannot Connect — Master Server and Mumble Blocked by ISP

Post by d1zar »

Hello PR Team and Community,

I’m writing on behalf of the Russian-speaking players of Project Reality.

Recently, access to the game has become severely limited for many of us due to large-scale IP blocking by Roskomnadzor (the Russian state communications agency). As a result:

The in-game server browser never loads any servers (infinite searching).

Players can only join servers via Direct IP, if they manage to obtain it.

PR Mumble is completely inaccessible, even when connected to a game server directly.

In some cases, the launcher and updater also fail because realitymod.com and related services are blocked.

This has effectively cut off a large part of the Russian PR community from playing the game and communicating properly.

We kindly ask you to consider the following possible solutions:
Add support for alternate master server mirrors on different IPs or domains, to bypass regional blocks.

Allow fallback to a local or community-maintained server list when the master server fails.

Enable manual configuration of PR Mumble server address, or offer backup Mumble servers on alternative IPs.

Publish a list of active server IPs on the official site or forum, so players can connect manually.

We understand this may require time and effort, but even a temporary workaround would help players continue enjoying the game.

If there’s any way the Russian community can assist — with hosting, testing, or outreach — we’re ready to help.

Thank you for your continued support of Project Reality and its global community.

Sincerely,
d1zar
