The LA5FN (the Soviet fighter) is insanely OP and needs a nerf.
I did some testing and it compares like follows:
Max speed horizontal:
- LA5FN: ~310
- BF109: ~245
Fastest turn:
- LA5FN: ~ 7 sec
- BF109: ~10 sec
Max speed 90* climb:
- LA5FN: ~185
- BF109: ~100
The LA5FN outclasses the German figher so hard its not fair to play against. Sure it doesn't get bombs, but it's still completely unfair and unfun to be at such a disadvantage before the fight even starts. In my experience the German cas squad almost always gets destroyed by the LA5FN if it has a half decent pilot. Might as well remove German cas.
TLDR: PLEASE NERF

It was a long time ago that I coded this, but iirc I tried to make the flight physics of all ww2 planes very similar, I might have made some adjustments based on their armaments though.
The reasoning behind this difference could have been that the bf109 gets mg+cannon+bomb, while the LA5FN only gets cannon iirc.
I agree the speed difference seems a bit too much though. Will try to look into this soon.

There is one thing that I don't understand to this day - why BF109 need to have that bomb? If we lacking a ground attacking fighter (FW190) then fine. But why we don't have just a normal fighter with only guns? The main issues with "balance" is lack of options to actually do it, because BF109 always have bomb, P 51 always have rockets etc. and now LA5FN doesn't have these and we have "issues".

You are going to have different physics for each countries different planes. I prefer tactical solution, you get the anti-air vehicle and a bunch of MG42s, fly over the defensive flag when it follows, make your plane known around there till enemy comes, shoot it down with MG42 emplacements, MG42 kits and the AA vehicle. Bunch of half tracks helps too. Ground fire has to give it some love.
All you can do is dance around its reticule not focusing on trying to turn any one direction because it will catch up to lead its aim ahead of you quicker. You have to make enemy pilot say "the Force is strong with this one".

1 Man per piece of cover, Move cover to cover. In view of each other to save each other by shooting, distraction, division of enemy attention and ammo. 1 man hit per RPG/tank shell/mortar spread formation full time. Edge of cap zone. Use camouflage, police up each others exposure, no man seen sticking out. Scan aggressively with eyes and ears for anything suspect, even for birds disturbed to fly out of trees

Does dropping the bombs from any aircraft lighten up or change the physics for faster climbing speed?
