If you see behaviour of misconduct, why do you not report it to the servers webpage? Or at least check out the "Playable servers"-thread on this forum and grab one or two contactpoints and send them an email/xfire/whatever? Most public servers are not hosted by professionals, but by gamers who let you play on their server. Some of them have even paid hard earned cash for it. They have jobs, studies, wife and kids etc, that take up their time when they can't sneak away to play. It is difficult to be everywhere at once. But with the communities help and giving the administrators of the myriad of new servers a tip, maybe we can do you guys a favour in return and manage a server you want to play on
Good Point. Not to mention that the interface to manage the servers are buggy and a awkward (i.e. bf2cc). It is difficult to manage a game while "ingame". If something happens it is best for the admin to get out of the game and take care of any trouble makers via the bf2cc screen. Obviously quick bans, kicks, and warnings can be done quickly by admins while in game, but we do not like to do any of that with out PROOF. Nothing is worse than being kicked or banned because of someone elses bad behavoir. SO if there is any trouble we like to get into the console and read the chat and then pass out warnings and so on.
Being new to this community I realise that my opinion is probably worth little more than a chuckle...that being said, we have servers running PR, we pay for the box, and we will not tolerate ANY deliberate TK's whether they are retalitory or not. Reason is simple, you cannot teach good manners to a jackass who is coming in and acting like a smacktard. It is just better to report him to the admin or post on the server site and let the owners of the server BAN HIS.HER ***. Retalitory TK'ing never works, it just makes the situation worse.
I am concerned a bit about some of the attitude that the "senior" members of this community is conveying. Word is getting out that PR is filled with snobs who do not welcome new players and treats them poorly. While this will always happen, no matter what game it is, this game or what I like to call a sim, requires a steep learning curve, and thereby needs you vets to assist the noobs with the game play. Dont get me wrong, I personally have only met awesome people whom have helped me out immensely, I have not experienced any negative remarks..well ok, one or two..lol, but I deserved it. I have been talking to clan leaders in other games like RVS and Vbf2 and alot are down on the attitude...or at least the rumors of it. Reading this thread is definitely not a "noob friendly" one. All I am saying is..try to ease up on the new-guys. give them a chance. This is an awesome sim (lol), and many more people from vbf2 and games like Ravenshield will be coming over. I know that 3 of my clan members are a bit apprehensive to play PR without some senior FoW members there to support them. It should not be this way. Just my opionion.
Look forward to playing with everyone on your and our server.
