I think rocket/grenade launchers sealed the fate of flamethrowers. Especially when thermobaric rounds were developed.

Don't worry though the BF/BF2 community is very talented as a whole. So you'll probably see flamethrowers in WW2 mods.

We do plan to have mortars in Project Reality.

White Phosphorus grenades don't produce the same type of effects as the flamethrower; they don't burst out liquid flame, but they can start fires. When they burst they send out a shower of burning WP fragments that are hot enough to burn right through bone. For a simulated example of the effects of this type of weapon, see the film We Were Soldiers; the real thing is probably even more horrifying.

In US service the M34 WP hand grenade is listed as obsolete and is no longer made; in fact, it isn't even mentioned in the most recent edition field manual concerning grenades. This was sometimes called a "suicide grenade," since it has a burst radius of 35 meters. An average soldier could throw it about 30 meters.

eeh, then why didn't they just adjust the burst radius? :?

Desert Eagle!!! 44 or 50 cal.

A better spec ops gun with scope (or alike class) i prefer the basic spec ops gun because it has a scope which i much cleaer to shoot through.

like an SG552 with scope or mabe even a SG551 with scope.

XM8 - because they wil own

UZI SMG

M60E3 short barreled version.

A bit off topic but Bergens!!! We need bgs that we can drop that gibves us an optional ammo/supplys support at a reduction of speed. that we CAN drop if we wish too!!

i think the game really needs bergens even if they are just part of the model and do nothing.

Different for each class. spec-ops will have a smaller bodypack rather then a bergen but you get my idea? no??

XM8 is not in service, considering that some devs have suggested that PR may not be on the same time line BF2 is on it probably wouldn't be fit to be added.

None of the other weapons are in use by the militaries in BF2. However if you like them that much, you could go to CS:S as I think the rest of the guns are in there.

The post was not weapon suggestions that are in service.

I like bf2 better then CSS.

XM8 might not be in servive. yet.

nothing wrong from my eyes with a bit of customisation. Real soldiers modify there weapons as far as sights and other accessoires go. they buy new boots and outdoor gear. standard issue is not as good.

This game would be more fun if it had a larger weapon selection. So in this mod why couldent soldiers use other guns? it would be more fun.

XM8 would be a cool weapon to unlock i think too.

im pretty sure that the unlockable weapons are being totally removed because in real life you do not 'unlock' weapons

And I never said it was. I stated that for realisms sake, these weapons will most likely not be added due to the fact that they are not used by any of the militaries represented in BF2. On another note, weapon customization is one thing, however soldiers can't just order a Desert Eagle and take it with them to Iraq.
