IFAV for USMC (modify opk wolf)?

Post by dunkellic »

hey, i just made this suggestion because it could be really easy to implement.
the favs we currently have for the usmc ingame, those buggys are actually seal favs, and i dont even know wether they are still used or not.
the us marine chor uses its own fav (ifav= interim fast attack vehicle).

it is basically a modified wolf, or mercedes benz - g class suv and is currently fielded by force recon (i think)
this is what the real ifav looks like

this is what the opk wolf (the opk dev team is part of the blacksand studios, so iit shouldnt be to difficult to get it, should it?)

the differences are not that big, so is there any chance this would be possible?

there was recently a problem about this so they may be a little shy, but since its not like what OS did they may let us have it:

Hello everyone,

Black Sand Studios is sad to come forth in these circumstances, but it has to be done. We have noticed that the mod Operation Sunrise has stolen content from various other mods. So far two of our projects, PR and OPK have identified some objects and even sound files to be their intellectual property. Not only BSS projects are victims, others are affected as well. We would like all mod teams pay close attention to be certain their hard work hasn't been taken for granted.

With this news update we do not want to start a flamewar, but such things cannot pass unseen. We have tried to talk with them, but we could not find a common ground of understanding, so we decided it had to go public. We hope that the community will draw it's conclusions, and that such acts shall never be perpetrated again.

This does not mean that we are against the fact that other teams use our content! But all we ask is to be asked first. We have shared content in the past, and we will continue to do this, as long as it happens correctly.

We thank you for your attention,

Black Sand Studios.

The following are pictures to show proof and shown only here for now

That OS thing is not really related to the topic at hand. Of course PR devs will ask before they use other's material.

under copy right laws can't we sue for unlawfull use.

(not suggesting that we should)

any way back OT i think it is a good idea (as long as we ask).

the operation sunrise mod thingie has already been discussed - but what some seem to forget here: project reality and operation peacekeeper are both in the blacksand studios, so this is a totally different thing

IFAV has been suggested before. Not sure if it will be included.

In real-life it is not solely used by Force Recon/Marine Special Operations Battalions or divisional Recon Battalion units, but also by the battalion landing teams of the MEU(SOC)s. The rifle battalion of the MEU(SOC) has a heavy weapons company (M2s, Mk-19s, TOWs and Javelins) and they can mount them on the few IFAVs allocated to the battalion as opposed to the HMMWVs, since the IFAVs can be internally transported by the CH-53E.

The FAV in game is based on the Chenowth Light Strike Vehicle, which was/is used by the Army, Navy and Marine Corps. The Army and Marines referred to it as the Fast Attack Vehicle and Naval Special Warfare called it the Desert Patrol Vehicle (DPV).

I guess we'd have to ask and if yes then do some remodeling. I have been collecting references of the IFAV for a while, and decent shots are hard to come by.
