Good, so now you can start lightmaps? :D

btw, something I learned, never save objects after doing some object lightmaps, it makes all the trees and bushes into statics, and makes alot of lag and messyness. So after any lightmaps, never save! The lightmaps save automatically as they are done.

Well, all my trees, and bushes are already statics. Because I have like 10 of each... and needed to place them precisely.

Also, before I start light maps, I added some supposedly destructible wall, but they don't blow up.

Also, my map has around 900 objects. Is that a lot?

Mm, okay.

Also,

I would like to apply to become a R-CON, and I was wondering how? I have been part of Project Reality for so long (almost a year) that I feel that I need to contribute something. It would help with the map too. Along with mapping, I do photoshop, web development (you current site code makes me cry) and I am starting video editing (After Effects). I also code, I've done Java and PHP, but not Python, though I could learn. Well, yeah, to who do I apply too? If you will accept me that is, if you don't want me I understand.

R-CON is someone that will do things for the mod itself like maps

R-PUB will work on advertising

Okay, did a test on 3 buildings, and shadows are really dark.

While I did find a terrainlight.con (and terrain shadows are fine), I did find not a objectlight.con, please someone please upload one and send me one. Please

Here is deafault(good) objects + terrain light

put files in emirate_isle\editor

R-Con is invite only kinda thing, I just kinda made a few maps and helped people out and then you get a message. If people like your map and it would suit PR then some higher-upper will contact you. Also good to show different maps aswell.

I hope this one works out good for a start.

And when the lgihtmaps are done, goto

compile>generate lightmap atlas.

You then have in your emirate_ilse/lightmaps/objects

loads of these: which you delete (make a backup of your whole map first, this is for packaging)
concretebarrier=02=-51=32=-498
gatehouse=02=-436=26=447
lamppost_highway_02=01=267=28=-448
so delete all them and keep only the files like this:
LightmapAtlas0
LightmapAtlas1
.....
....
LightmapAtlas9
LightmapAtlas10
LightmapAtlas.tai
so in emirate_isle/lightmaps/objects delete everything except the LightmapAtlas files.

Files in emirate_isle/lightmaps are all for terrain and should all be kept of course.

Like I said thats for packaging and always make a backup.

Okay, I got good news, and bad news

The Good News:

I got my object settings where I want them, the object shadows are just right now.

The Bad News:

The terrain is now fucked up beyond any recognition. It is all black.

So, the map is set back another week. Yay! :(

EDIT:
Also, I have officially confirmed this now, all roofs, everywhere are accessible now with the grappling hook.

EDIT 2:
I tried fixing it by using detail textures and colour maps from previous versions of the map. No luck, it doesn't work. Sigh :(

It doesn't work ingame or in the editor?

If it's in the editor, might be cause the detailmaps inside editor folder are f*ckd up... maybe just adding them from your last backup should help...

Um, did you change the terrain at all? Something may have gone wrong under your unusual circumstances, and the colormaps and detailmaps don't fit the terrain anymore.

Yeah, I changed the terrain, but all I did was level out some hills in the ocean to try to get rid of the green.

EDIT:

Okay, what I'm going to do is make a list of the changes I have made, then I'm going to delete Emirate Isle and go back to the older version (the one you guys downloaded) and make the changes again and try not to fuck up anything. This is going to take awhile :(

Okay guys, we have 2 choices:

1. We can have black terrain.
OR
2. Some areas of the water in the distance will look a little weird.

The way to fix the green in the water is to edit the terrain. Editing the terrain destroys the detailcolour. I can edit static objects though, so my idea is to get some boards, and stick them in the water to block the green. It will look sometimes a little weird from certain angles, but otherwise everything will be fine.

EDIT:
Okay, tonight I'll start the lightmaps, then then in 3-4 days/years they will be done and I will release the map. The only problems will be the odd water, but theres no fixing that.

Okay, I did all the object lightmaps, they are all done.

BUT, I can not get the fucking lightmap atlas thing to work, in game object shadows don't show.

Also, the surrounding terrain is screwed up, even though I did primary and secondary terrain light maps on high, the surrounding water colour is different.

PLEASE HELP me, you can not imagine how fucking frustrating this is, to be so close, yet for everything to be fucked up.

oh you bet we can :p

like I said, go to compile>generate lightmap atlas, then in the test version of yuor map (the on you package and send off) delete all the lightmap object files except the atlas files.

What I did, was remove all the lightmap object files except the lightmap atlas, and it didn't work.

Also, that doesn't even touch my problem of the outside area water being weird.
