Will there be a change to M4 and recoil
Will you guys be working on the recoil and M4 in the latest patch you are thinking up??? Cause I know myself and many others would love that.

I will be happy to see the back fo the current M4 config. Far too many spec ops running around. Also, when your MEC and you hear one, you know your chances of a kill are greatly reduced, unless the guy really can't do anything. Point and click, 1 of the 30 rounds it kicks out in a second will hit something.

Well my cousin is in the Army and he is part of the New York national guard and he told me that the M249 was really hard to handle and he is 6'0 200. I mean yeah I would like to see all the guns tweaked a little bit because the character models are the same and you cant have everybody shooting straight as an arrow with a heavy weapon that just isnt realsitc if you want to go there. It does kick but on full auto you can still keep it on someone for like 200 rounds. I dont want to see like a complete over haul just a minor tweak for all weapons except for the M4 which needs to go back to the drawing board.

There will be no recoil on 0.5, the damage will be improved, the magazine size will now be 100 instead of 30, and it will damage tanks/apcs alsoHauler wrote:Will you guys be working on the recoil and M4 in the latest patch you are thinking up??? Cause I know myself and many others would love that.
There will be Zoom also
J/K
They said it is fixed already for the 0.5

ALL of the weapons in PRMM 0.4 need more recoil, especially the M4 rifle. The M4, in real life is not as accurate as the M16A2. It has a shorter barrel meaning a slower muzzle velocity, which means a shorter range. It is perceived to be more accurate, just because it has a little scope on it. If you fire both weapons side by side you will find that the M16A2 is slightly more accurate. But you can’t use open sights on one and a scope on the other. That wouldn’t be a fair comparison now would it. It's all subjective really. Has anyone ever fired an M4? I have, and I can tell you that when you fire the rifle (or most any rifle for that matter) the recoil as well as the muzzle flash can and will cause you to loose the sight picture. At that point you have to reacquire the target all over again to fire a second shot, because it will no longer be in your sights. Don’t believe, then go try it for yourself. There is one way to get better follow-up shots however. If you are in a good prone supported position the rifle CAN fall back into the same sight picture (or very near) for the next shot. But ONLY if you are in a GOOD prone supported position. It’s referred to as the natural point of aim. Once your body as settled into that position and you fire the weapon, and let the recoil happen the rifle will jump but then settle back into that “natural point of aim” again. It takes lots of training to learn to do all that without thinking about it.
Everyone thinks that once you put a scope on a rifle it makes you a better shot, well it doesn't. You must master open sights first then graduate to a scoped weapon. Besides the scopes on most M4s are either 2 power or 4 power. There's not much need for more zoom than that. The more zoom you have the harder it is to hold the crosshairs on target. There is such a thing as to much zoom. If you need that kind of zoom and accuracy then use the Mk 12 mod 1. That rifle was built to fill the void between the actual M24 sniper rifles and the standard M16A2 or A4 variants. The Mk 12 mod 1 also uses a 77 grain bullet instead of the 62 grain bullets used in the M16A2, and the M249 SAW. It takes LOTS & LOTS of training for our servicemen to get good with any of these rifles. Shooting skills are perishable, meaning that if you don’t practice regularly you will go from being an excellent shot to being a mediocre shot very quickly. Anyway enough of that stuff.
My vote is to have AAAALLLLLL weapons in this mod increased with respect to RECOIL. Yes 5.56mm weapons recoil less then 7.62mm weapons, but there stopping power is less too. It’s that balance thing again. That’s just my .5 cents worth

You guys really need to jaunt around the forum a bit more, I only visit once a week and I've still seen at least 5 threads that answer this in the last month. The recoil is ridiculous right now, and like Fuzzhead said it's getting "fixed."
I have only one question for the dev team on the issue and that is.. how big and tough are our characters supposed to be? Recoil has a lot to do with physical strength and concentration, which varies from person to person, and I, personally, prefer less recoil to more, because in 1.3 I found absolutely no use for 3-round burst or virtually any controlled bursts at any distance. Even at medium range it felt like I couldn't hit anything on any setting but single fire, yet I was under the impression that 3 round burst is a 3 round burst because it is the optimal compromise between firing accuracy and damage output.

I hope the M249 doesn't get a recoil increase, it is already impossible to lay down suppressive fire since you need to recenter the gun after a 10 round burst. If recoil gets increased for support then you'd have to implement the soldier getting up and picking up his weapon because after a 3 round burst the gun would turn into an AA weapon, or just pop out of the soldiers hand.
On another note, in the military who gets the M4 carbine? I was looking up on it on the internet, and watching shows on History Channel (ShootOut, and Dogfights rock) and I noticed that squad leaders/commanders almost always were carrying an M4 weapon. Was that just coincidence or is that how it is determined?
