Tanks should explode into a huge fireball with lots of smoke and pieces of metal

Sometimes there's no explosion when vehicle is destroyed. I've watched many documentaries about Iraq and Iraqi vehicles hit with missiles or tank shells always looked like fireworks.

Well, the best explosions occur when they have all the hatches clamped down and a HEAT warhead hit, burning a one inch hole in the outside of the skin, then that molten one inch piece of steel rattles round the inside shredding everyone, and then the temperature inside reaches 3000 degrees celcius and the turret blows clean off!

I would have thought it was too much effort for something which doesn't really addmuch to gameplay, the doors and toher pieces alreadt litter the street when one is blown up, thats good enough for me.

Yeah, for now don't think it's main spot of focus.
Maybe just putting some more smoke, like the T62 wreck. The smoke that comes out of it look like it's being blown by wind as well.

Also the explosion can't have all that smoke or it'll lag badly who doesn't have a perfectly good video card.

No, I've seen Smoke burst in PoE2 which replaced artillery and that's a huge cloud of smoke and doesn't slow the performance(smoke grenades do) of my pc (I've got only GF5900XT). Everything depens on optimalization, but the question is: Why were the explosions, even those small vanillas, removed from the game? I hit the tank and it just became wreck without any graphic effect.

You know the vBF2 explosions were pretty nice. I'd be happy with those instead of what we've got right now. Because right now we've got basically no explosions whatsoever. :(

it is not always guys..... when you blow up a vehicle with 30mm cannon fire, you will see large explosion...

its only when you blow up **** with tanks and huge hits (AT missle) that it behaves strangely.

its being looked into.

i thought a majourity of tanks exploded due to its ammuntion inside exploding,

like the t72's didnt their turrets keep poping off due to the ammutnation in the carosell igniting? wouldnt the t80's and t90's have the same problem.

and i know the M1A1 has a blow out system where the exploding ammution is forced out the back of the tank and away from the crew.


it would be nice to have but, you can only have 1 death animation i belive so its a every thing or nothing effect.

i know this is not the same but i like FH2's way of handling destroyed tanks that i saw a while ago.

Howabout this: Tanks should explode in regard to what killed them. Hellfire missle? Huge boom. Sabot round? Possibly nothing other than some sparks as the round hits and a small explosion on the surface.

I've seen a Javelin video which will be in upcoming update. Everything is nice but the explosion of T-62 is missing again.
