Replace mec G3?

Not sure how many people like the current g3 that the MEC have, but personally I don't. I don't like the way it sounds or fires.

I would like a better sound and maybe a new model for it, or just replace it with another gun. So here's a poll.

I'd give MEC the Khaybar/KH-2002 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khaybar_KH2002.

The G3 isn't that bad though, I can see it being quite **** though once the recoil is upped in 0.5. Actually, it's going to be terrible. Unless it's more powerful. Like 2 shot kill or 1 shot kill to the chest on un-armoured targets.

I think they're making new models for it. Like a version with Optics and a version with a GL.

I like the idea of giving the MEC Middle Eastern designed weapons, like the KH-2002, but the G3 is fine for now.

Whats the point of making a completely new weapon that not many people even know about or have heard, just for minimal, if that, improvements.

Its basically a bullpop M16. Not very fun, an M16 vs. a M16.

The KH-2002 is an indigenously produced 5.56mm bullpup conversion kit for the M16-A1 Assault Rifle.

In fact the rest of the "non G3" variants in the MEC arsenal are being replaced with G3 variants (we already had a G3 modelled but it was incomplete and not all variants were modelled).

I want a unique and plausible main battle rifle for each of the factions represented. I mean unique and plausible in the context of the geography and politics of the faction. We can take a lot of licence given that PR is set sometime in the near future. When we were adding Insurgents they are an obvious user of the AK47 weapons.

I wanted each faction to be unique as far as the MBR goes. We ran the current setup past our testers during v0.4 development and the majority really liked it. The HK G3 platform was the most readily available plausible platform to use as the basis for a unique MEC main battle rifle.

(the current temporary "Type 56" hack for the PLA is a thorn in my side lol .. I hate it and am happy that it's being replaced for v0.5).

USMC = M16
GB = L85
MEC = G3
PLA = Type 95
Insurgents = AK47

I'm looking forward to the g3/sg1 for the mec, but I don't like the g3 much as a main battle rifle, hopefully that will change when the optical sights are added.. I particularly don't like the hk21, because it has too much recoil to use for suppressing fire or even use beyond close range, and the single shot isn't very accurate.. the sights take up too much of the screen, too. What about changing the MEC main battle rifle to the hk 33, a 5.56 mm rifle based on the g3? I believe there's even a heckler koch belt fed machine gun based on the g3 in 5.56

I don't mind the G3... and it won't be bad once they fix the M4. The only reason it bites right now is that after you fire 2-3 shots, it gets very inaccurate, and you have to let it settle for a split second where as the M4 is as we all knwo, a laser.

I am not crazy about the g3 sites, but they could be worse.

I like the G3, but it needs new sound, a new model, and just an overall rework really, and as for the PLA, i dont mind what they ahve now, but still anything new is welcome if it works right. and im glad that the M16 is still main weapon for US, i hate the M4 and rarely use it.

I like the G3, but it needs optics and such.

and as my suggestion of a HK33 with 40 round magazine was turned down, I'd be very happy with a G3 with better sounds, higher damage, bigger recoil and a HK79!

but if it has a new model maybe all Black with the new furniture instead of the ribbed forgrip a louder noise and a heavier punch it would rock.

now that looks like a proper weapon, i think my hate of the g3 is that it reminds me of vannila far more than the other weapons. giving them dusty old rifles just doesnt make me think of a modern well equipt army that the MEC was promised to be.
