Hello. Sorry, we aren't going to be placing a Brazilian faction in the mod.Rasgriz wrote:I don't know if you would like but i'm will offer it same way, if you want to create (and the other wan't to play with) the brazilian faction, i can help, as i brazilian i know the brazilian army, most of the people outside don't know but the brazilian army it's well armed (the brazilan AT's uses the SRAW just like the USMC) if anyone (moder or player) wan't to talk about this just send me a e-mail: [email protected] and i'm here also to ask: how the USMC carry the grenade rounds? on a special case? anyone knows a specify case to carry these rounds? As to your question regarding how the 40mm grenade rounds are carried, they are carried in pouches attached to the grenadier's body armor / load-bearing vest.

Prior to the issue of modular load-bearing vests, a special vest was issued to grenadiers.

If you are going to add a South American faction, then my vote is for Peru.
Check out their upgrades

"OK guys, our T55s, AMXs, jeeps and such are getting a bit out of date. What can we do to keep them competitive?"
"I know! Lets bolt a load of missiles to them!"
"Fantastic idea. Everyone knock off early!"
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!

Well, afaik the only reaally good gun from Brazil is the EET-1 Osorio, a MBT that was even saled to some countries in arabia or whatever. It was a good tank because it had a lot of imported parts from GB, Belgium, Germany, etc, making it a good match for the M1a1. Since there are only around 300 of this tanks in Brazil (and those would be the version with the 105mm cannon, and not the 120 that was exported), you can't say there's that much firepower.
Air support well.. The only "high-tec" thing is the Mirage, and despite the speed, is not a match for foreign jets.
I can't tell about the FN- FAL (main rifle) cause i don't know it. But as US sells their guns to everybody, Brazil also has M16 and it's variants in some forces.
Anyway, what could be made if a group of people is interested, is a mini-mod based on PR, I'm sure brazilian PR community would play it and enjoy, since we have a good number of players. But that wouldn't have to do anything with the PR mod, it would be optional.
Maybe the only strong point in the army would be the training, but in a game I don't really think it matters.

thanks Ed for the pictures, but i will have to search for other type of ammo case that type don't fit my purposes
ha ha ha ^^ i see that some people here are well informed but others still don't know anything about nothing, if you would like to know venom search about the Brazilian multi rocket launcher system called ASTROS II (if someone say the inverse it's a lie, this system were full developed and constructed on Brazil, and about Peru, some year back they were just Indians with bow and arrows ^^, they APC is an old ford SUV with and WWII grenade launcher mounted on it, but it's nonfunctional due to ammo shortage XD. I have to agreed with robbo in one point: anyone from outside the South American hears from Brazilian army, that why the Brazilian diplomacy is different from the USAs, Brazil don't involve itself in conflicts that aren't his business, and you will ask: that why it don't care? No, first thats the Brazilian army honors his first objective: protect the Brazilian nation, and they still help other poor countries with food and medical care (Haiti, Angola and some other poor countries), the second motive is the Brazilian way of think: how the people of a country can reach the maturity if the other countries stay treating they like children? we don't know how they act, why they act, what is the base of its religion, what are their purposes, how they live and how they see the life, we can't interfere with them.Military intervention only in last case. The conflict between Israel and the Palestinians for example, the Brazil have a ambassador various others trying to reach peace. huh, sorry I've gone a little longer XD, but i if you still aren't tired of reading about Brazil i will tell one more curiosity to you, did you remember when you study at the High school about the WWII? Omaha beach and the D day? did you remember that the Germany have allies? I'm talking about the Italy, the Mussolini fascist Italy, now i'm ask to you robbo, how a country with a out of date technology to that time, out of date weapons, outnumbered and with dumb Soldiers (that is your opinion i see) can beat the Italy almost alone? the allied forces tried to secure some bridges to across the Reno river but failed, when they came to Italy it was almost finished, the Italy way points were usable, there was about 18.000 enemy soldiers captive (there are only 25.000 Brazilian soldiers in the Italy), and the last resistance in the country were surrounded by the Brazilian forces and the rest of French army. Very well don't you think?
Sorry about my English... and greetings to you all, happy new year

I never realized there were Brazilian soldiers in the Italian theatre. Thanks , I will have to read up on that.
But on the other hand, beating the Italian Army is not like beating the wermacht.
A joke from my WWII vet grandfather " How do Italian admirals view their navy ? ............From a glass bottomed boat.

brazil is not the kid of country that get involved in wars anymore
It would probably only join a war if we were attacked on our territory
But dosent make much sence, why would PLA or Mec Attack brazil?
It would fit another mod with Cops against drug lords against militia (Rio de Janeiro =P )
They will only add another country it someone Model the weapons, vehicles and models

to get an invasion scenario all you need to do is make up a discovery of some rare mineral, tiberium for instance, that the MEC/PLA need and then you have your war.
But an urban battle in the favelas would be quite nasty.
It would make great maps with those tiny winding streets clogged with destroyed armor....
But what little I've learned about map making says it's really hard and there probably won't be any maps of Rio any time soon.
Too bad.

funny thing is, except on one map (and the armored fury pack + wake island) and that being gulf of oman, there is no map where mec and pla are actually invaders, always the us ^^ArmedDrunk&Angry wrote:to get an invasion scenario all you need to do is make up a discovery of some rare mineral, tiberium for instance, that the MEC/PLA need and then you have your war.

You're welcome! Your purposes? Are you a collector of militaria, or are you a serving soldier who needs gear? People on an actual military forum would be the best to ask about that, I think.Rasgriz wrote:thanks Ed for the pictures, but i will have to search for other type of ammo case that type don't fit my purposes
ASTROS II is a very good system, by many accounts. The Iraqis had a few during their invasion of Kuwait and Khafji. They were the crown jewels of their artillery at the time. Don't know how many survived Desert Storm and the subsequent war.Rasgriz wrote:ha ha ha ^^ i see that some people here are well informed but others still don't know anything about nothing, if you would like to know venom search about the Brazilian multi rocket launcher system called ASTROS II
