Winter quarter just started today :( So I guess any date from here on out is good lol. The later the better so I don't get bothered by playing PRM instead of studying.

Yeah, and if you're not a medic, and you see a dead medic, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PICK UP HIS KIT AND REVIVE HIM, THEN BE A GOOD LITTLE BOY AND PLAY MEDIC FOR A FEW. Sheesh.

I couldn't count the times tonight that I was killed in the middle of 4-6 other teammates, and none of them would drop their kit to revive me. I always try to get the medic back up, or switch kits. It's just good manners.

edit: I"m a whiney son-of-a-gun tonight ain't I... :P

edit part Deux: DEVs, Please take my whining with a grain of salt. I -really- like this game... I"ve been playing since one of the first versions (off and on) and really playing a TON of .4... It's a great game, and I really haven't had any ******* about it until tonight, but mainly I"m just in a pissy moood. > :(

No pun intended, don't mean to insult, but you know? Sometimes us medics are a weee bit busy to spesifically save your butt.

Here are some of my whiney reasons.
1) You are cut of from your squad. Medic isn't - medic is trying to save his/her SL that just got killed.
2) Medic is desperatly trying to seek cover since - NO BODY ARMOUR!
3) Medic tries to asses the situation and figure out, is it safe to revive? Or will we both get killed in the process - resulting in a long bitchfest "ingame" and then on this very forum
4) Medic is desperatly trying to keep up with the MEC Marathon that just started in his/her squad and getting chewed up by SL for "not moving your fat arse fast enough".
5) One squadmate has been shot and the medic is desperatly trying to " find" that spesific squadmate.
6) The medic is also the SL and has the responsibility of keeping himself/herself safe so that 5 other players can continue assault.
7) Deep in enemy territory, just a few feet away from a whole squad of tangoes you lay prone in the grass hoping that they won't see you. Now is not the time to run up to the medic and yell "MEDIC MEDIC MEDIC! THANKS THANKS THANKS!".

The list could go on. What people forget at times is that medics have a role in this game, and basically it would be to keep his/her squad safe first. If I read the game wrong and use 3 zapps to save a lonewolf smuck (I would have no idea if it was or not, because of no nametag) and seconds later my SL or another squadmate gets shot - I have just wasted over half of my "ammunition". Now because of me trying to be the hero, my SL is killed and I cannot ressurect (worst case scenario). Who do you think will get the "WTF was that? That was GAY! You call yourself a medic?" on VOIP? You? Or me?

:D :D :D

I do understand your frustration. Really, I do. I just try to keep this in the back of my head when I see a medic running like crazy straight past my body.

I don't think that's being insulting Clav, I think you have very well described what can be going on for those of us that play medic 90 - 100% of our gaming time. I played with Non-Compliance last night and it was a pleasure. Our job as medics is first "our safety" or we can't help anyone (same as in real life situations). I do try very hard to keep all my guys up and going, but sometimes, despite their yells for a medic, I can't safely get to them, clear 3 enemies on the roofs, and revive my pile of bud's bodies. As much as I wish I were that good, I am not. Expecting medics to "revive everyone everytime" would be like medics expecting the rest of the kits to "kill every enemy everytime". It's a tough job being a medic, but someone has to do it!

I understand the frustration too. Some games go smoothly, like clock work, and others you just can't seem to make anything happen. I guess the "bad games" is what makes the "good ones" so GREAT! Salute and let's all hug

The most frustrating one was when a medic was proned over me, didn't even try to revive then just walked away

Are you sure he wasnt out of batteries? I dont play medic that much but when i have i know theres been a few times when i ran out and couldnt get resupply so it was pointless to try to revive. Usually i tried to say sorry but or type out i was out of batts but i guess you'll never know.

yep, when is run out of ammo i usually say "need ammo" while being near the dead guy, but with the few riflemen around, you rarely get resupplied - yesterday on muttrah, it came so far, that i completely ran out off ammo, both for the shockpads and my rifle -__-

Like I said, I was in a particularly pissy mood after getting our butts whooped as MEC. :) How could things go so right as US, then go right in the crapper as MEC... but all the DVB guys were good teammates... and I know you can't always revive everyone.. I was just being whiney because I would go medic since there wasn't many around... then a tank would roll up.. BOOM I'm dead... then I would go AT and tank would go down just before I shot it.. then infy rushes in, and I'm dead... no revive... so I"m back to medic... APC rolls in... I"m dead... LoL and so-on.

You are so right that some of those games, you just cannot do a thing right.

The other thing that happened to me several times was I got TKed when I was a medic...

IF YOU TK A MEDIC, IT IS REQUIRED THAT YOU TAKE HIS KIT AND REVIVE HIM. :) Should be an insta-kick if not. :)

Seriously, it's time you folks stop complaining about the medics. I played on 4 different servers today and all I saw was medics running about like busy bees trying to help out.

Even then, since it's a new trend - akin to bitching about M4, everybody is complaining about the medics. Stop now. Really, enough.

I generally play Medic .. and uh.... 80% of the players will:

1. expect you to go out into a crossfire and heal them instead of coming to your position of safety and get healed
2. run away from you after you revive them, thinking that all you have planned for that round is to chase after bleeding guys
3. stand in the middle of an uncovered area expecting you to heal them right on the spot you revived them
4. stare at you, with their gun pointing in your face instead of watching for bad guys

My favorite is when guys get revived, run off and join the fight at 40% health, get killed, then botch at you for not healing them.

So uh... heh... folks need to use some common sense cuz most guys who play medic would, I imagine, have the same experiences as I do and generally not be all that crazy about healing / reviving folks.

Well, what we should do is have a week where all the medic players blindly revive everybody. Then we can have some threads bitching about how medics suicide-revive so whenever you die you almost respawn then die again, and again.

I really enjoy, as a dead medic, sitting back, watching my corpse cam view of an injured teammate steal my med kit, heal himself up. Then switch back to his bullet hose kit and take off.

Hats off to the medics! thanks for all the revives!

I always say thanks after someone revives me, but I have noticed that people are not doing that anymore.

We should have a thread with customs and traditions that must be kept.

I hate to sound harsh but, Plain and simple PR is a intrasquad based game, and until we start setting strict precedents, some of these neo-rambos aren't gonna get with the program.

A good medic in a working squad should not have to needlessly endanger his self or burden his squad by leaving his squad's battle radius to revive every wayward anti-squad player that calls for a medic. I'll take more risks if I'm in a half-assed squad but if I'm in a tight squad or I'm squad leader I will demand the medic stay close by and on call.

I hate to get off track but same holds true for flying with someone out of your squad or even gunning for someone in a vehicle out of your squad. In most situations you should set the precedent and refuse.

But the point should be if you're not working in a squad your not really in the game, and if your squad's not working with other squads, we'll never take PR to the next level of realism.
