All of that is fine and dandy but that sentiment needs to be conveyed to others in the game.
I don't know how many people read the forums as opposed to posting here but there are sure as sh*t a lot of people that never visit and the ideas and suggestions here need to be shared in game with non forum people.
We need players to take the time to type out messages like" Join a squad..spawn on SL..go to the correct flag"... etc.
If we want the level of playing to go up, we all must contribute to the learning process in the game.
The whole medic ***** thread should be mentioned in the game. You have between 30and 60 seconds to type stuff while you respawn, use that time to share info even if it's spamming the message to " DEFEND THE DAM" or some such thing.
People really need to be reminded that AAS includes the word "SECURE" and what that means.
The forums are great but it's ingame that we all need to spread the word.

Hats off to the medics! thanks for all the revives!
THIS is the type of stuff I am talking about... not the fact that a medic doesn't revive me when I rambo it.... People that TK you and don't grab your medic kit to bring you back... Medics standing on top of you while you are dead, but no revive.
I don't expect anyone to run across the map to revive me... but if you're sitting on my corpse, please show some love. IF you TK me on accident, it's bad manners to not try to get me back up.
I will be doing like armed and drunk said... preaching teamwork, etc when I"m dead....
I"m not always the greatest squaddie... but I always try to keep my guys up, and if I happen to run by someone I"m certainly going to give them a quick buzz.. Also if my squaddie goes down and he's a medic, I"m smart enough to grab his kit...etc..

It should depend on the situation, in a firefight it could get you killed and waste time, but if not much is happening about then I find most people say thanks.GeZe wrote:I always say thanks after someone revives me, but I have noticed that people are not doing that anymore.
We should have a thread with customs and traditions that must be kept.

Insightful words here, folks.JohnnyPissoff wrote:I hate to sound harsh but, Plain and simple PR is a intrasquad based game, and until we start setting strict precedents, some of these neo-rambos aren't gonna get with the program.
A good medic in a working squad should not have to needlessly endanger his self or burden his squad by leaving his squad's battle radius to revive every wayward anti-squad player that calls for a medic. I'll take more risks if I'm in a half-assed squad but if I'm in a tight squad or I'm squad leader I will demand the medic stay close by and on call.
I hate to get off track but same holds true for flying with someone out of your squad or even gunning for someone in a vehicle out of your squad. In most situations you should set the precedent and refuse.
But the point should be if you're not working in a squad your not really in the game, and if your squad's not working with other squads, we'll never take PR to the next level of realism.

Yeah I tend to do this as well. If I am in a squad that's kicking ***.. then.... er.. I generally don't leave that squad unattended to go revive a non squaddie.JohnnyPissoff wrote:A good medic in a working squad should not have to needlessly endanger his self or burden his squad by leaving his squad's battle radius to revive every wayward anti-squad player that calls for a medic. But if the squad I am in isn't really being very effective, then I'll try and revive anyone nearby.

Eggman, the problem with the medicing/healing situation is that players are not revived in a bleed state. If they came in at a state just a little better than the woozies they will seek cover and health. If they have 40% or whatever is needed to avoid bleed they run off since whether 40% or 100% they will die nearly the same easy.
We were promised bleed state revival for 0.4. Can we get it for 0.5 and improve the medic situation?

I believe that this can be determined by the realityconfig.py
Code: Select all
# PROJECT REALITY HEALTH UPON REVIVE SETTINGS
# edit this setting to determine the health of players when they are revived
# default is 35 health
#
REVIVE_HEALTH = 35-

One good thing has come out of this thread. I've started saying "thank you" by Q, when somebody revives me. No disrespect ment, I just hate making more noise then absolutely necessary.
Example: Me and 2 others are hunting for 1 or possibly 2 hostiles at Goverment Office. I order "no comms" only VOIP and ask them to position themselves and stand very still. 15 seconds later we hit jackpot and hear pitterpatter of little feet one floor above us. Later, we managed to hunt down another one because he yelled "gogogo".
As I said, I mean no disrespect. My playstyle is to use my ears as much as my eyes. So, what if - the last 30 seconds of a game I can write a thank you speech?
"I dedicate this round *sniff sniff* to all those who *sniff sniff* made it possible. God bless you all."

My priorities are:
1. Keep myself alive
2. Keep SL alive
3. Keep squad alive
4. Keep randomers alive (I take less risks here, eg i won't waste a smoke to provide cover for a safe revive)
My only major gripes are:
1. Not taking my kit having just being revived by me if i die.
2. Not healing/reviving in a safe place
3. Reviving without securing an area/in a stupid place (I don't want to sit through another 30 seconds of "crit wounded") The number of people that blindly follow the last two dead medics is amazing.
