More forests like Ghost Train?
I love Ghost Train. Except for that bridge, which I hate. But other than that, I love it.
The distance between spawn points, begging for good squad leaders.
The little footbridge hardly anybody ever knows about.
The Brits holding the mountain over south bridge, and then constantly spawning and running down to the flag.
But most of all.... the perfect density of the forest. Unlike Jungle Fever (God rest it's soul) or Mao Valley. You can actually see a fair ammount, and aren't going to suddenly stumble across enemies. Nor can you simply crawl all the way into the enemy flag radius without being spotted. Instead you move slowly and cautiously, communicating enemy presences and flanking. Because of the trees and grass, you can't really engage a target that's running a little ways from you. Instead you have to communicate his presence and work with your squadmates.
Are there any plans to have more maps like this one?

YEAH MORE JUNGLE MAPS, the jungle maps completly kick ***, mao and ghost are easily the best, though sunset and ejod are pretty sweet to. EOD like maps would make my day, there so fun and there aresome simple things that can put you above the rest, #1 would probably be, take other teams guns. i dont wana typ anymore so you dont get 2 or 3

No way. OGT is great as is. It just sucks if you're in a shitty squad. And if that's the case, start a good one, where the SL stays alive.Clypp wrote:OGT is the most overrated PR map. Don't get me wrong, it's good. Just not as good as Jabal, Al Basrah, EJOD, Muttrah, CP Abandon, Al Falluja, Steel Thunder and Oasis. It could be improved immensely by adding spawns to the bridge flags.
My top three would be OGT, River Qwai, and Road to Jalalabad.
OGT for the reasons above. Qwai because it's so big, it has those amazingly fun Hutongs around Government Office, there's so much variation, and with coordination can be amazing. Jalalabad because it's an urban map with lots of variation from area to area.
EJOD's great fun with fewer people, but not so much when it's a GL/M4 whoring contest.
I don't understand the appeal of Jabal. It seems like a lot of work to me. I mean, if you get a couple good players on one team you can definately mow through, but it's not fun IMHO.

Al Fallujah is my favorite map.
I actually don't enjoy jungle maps much. Mostly cuase I suck at them.
Jabal is very fun. Ejod too. I haven't played Qwai enough to have an opinion.

Personally I want an old growth forest map that'd you find more in Eastern europe than a jungle, and Northern China will have those pine and fur forests like we have around here, with all the jungle maps what drives me crazy is the grass its so high you can simply drop and hide in it, I've done it many times.

Of the handful of really, really good rounds of PR I've had recently, I think all but one has been on OGT. Sure, the spawnpoint situation around the bridge could be improved, but the large distances, ubiquitous concealment and scarcity of real cover tend to make for really intense "sneaking around the jungle with a tight squad on VOIP" scenarios. I'm getting really tired of urban maps tbh, the constrict the player much more. Open, beautiful maps like OGT is what I'd love to see more of. Specifically, I'm curious about how a map like OGT would feel with a whole bunch of armor added to it..

Mutrah, Street(more just anything with brits), Ziahijang security.
I would like some more jungle/forest levels, but with a veriaty of densities.
A few clearings like the outskirts of Sunset city and some harsh boggy areas like Shonua stalemate. That way you get some stealth and some manouverability.
Also, iv noticed that the Mod team likes to put sniper rifles in instead of DMRs. Well, its really quite hard to see in some dense undergrowth and maybe another kind of a rilfe would freshen it up for a change.

hehe, we did test this acturley in the test server has the results are excatly what i thought. the tank drivers got so pissed of about it basicly being impossible to drive though the jungle they soon dumped the tank and went on footMMad wrote:Specifically, I'm curious about how a map like OGT would feel with a whole bunch of armor added to it..

if it got to the bridge yes it would. but Steel Thunder and OGT are very diffrent as one is a forest, the other is a jungle. Bamboo and tree trunks are 2 very diffrent things'[5NFSO wrote:Thunder']wow i thought the tank would be a siege bracker when fighting over the bridge

just try driving jeeps around that forest and they are hard enought as it is. Its not impossible to get a tank to the bridge, its just very damn hard

What they could have done, and can do!!!!! is remove alot of the punish area of the map. For some reason, they have created a nice urban enviroment but have decided to not let anyone use it and have the out of bounds coner most of it.GeZe wrote:Its only flawed when there are lots of people, otherwise, I have had great, thrilling moments on that map with 16-20 people on.
I think the acutul main street should be Huge! with lots of different theamed areas around it, like the mosuqe area, the shanty town area, the upperclass area and things like that. There should be two Pilots maybe, that way the brits can lose some of those tickets.
The Flaw with the level is that if the insurgents play as a good team or as a bad team doesnt effect the outcome. It depends on the brits. if the brits go for the Pilot, as a team, they risk losing lots of tickets. If they lay chilly and
just blast down the road with more accurate weaponary, they WILL win because of tickets.
Until two guys request heavy AT as soon as they see the thing and turn it into a 90tone roadblock. I think there needs somnething to stop this. Its annoying when you get the jump on an enemy base in a piece of armour, then a guy requests a heavy AT, shoots you once, picks up his M4 and runs off again. Same with AA weapons. It just encourages grudge killers.'[5NFSO wrote:Thunder']wow i thought the tank would be a siege bracker when fighting over the bridge
How real is that?! " Awww, i just got killed so next time im alive*looks to his watch* which is anbout 30seconds, i will get a heavy AT/AA and smoke his ***.
