No, sorry, I just modified the M16s to behave like M16A1s for now, which Taiwan uses more. As the page said, it had failed initial tests, so it is in limited use, sort of like the XM177s in the US today.

A semi-update, but here goes:

Taipei is a large city, and has buildings higher than any that BF2 has. I didn't feel like making my friend produce more models, so to simulate a large city, I have done this:

Image

As you can see, there are "skyscrapers" concealed by fog. I thought that since I can't really get my fog to match the surrounding horizon, I might as well not, and do something with it. I have modified the terrain to look like a city, but players can never actually see the "buildings" behind the fog.

Tell me what you think. I will expand this if feedback is good.

The skyscraper thing looks interesting.

May I suggest though, that you hide the main terrain/surrounding terrain border, because it usually looks bad and weird

Yeah, I'll see what I can do about that, but it would be unrealistic to just have buildings touching each other surrounding the map...

I'll try to make it inaccessible.

Agggghhhhh, I need help. I can't lightmap for sh*t. Can someone give me a good explanation of the lightmap settings? And the ranges in values I am supposed to use? I had my lightmaps going well before, but now they just turn out dark red and black. It makes it look like the city's on fire.

I looked at that. It doesn't say the range of values I am supposed to enter. I mean, what, 0-1? 0-100? 0-infinte?

I still have a small problem though: Look at the hotel. The first pic is a screenshot taken a one hundred meters away. Note the elevator shaft. The second one is a screenshot taken 75 meters away. Do you see the problem? This has happened every single time I rendered lightmaps:

hummm, in thous pics your objects to the left look really really dark. I take it they are lightmapped? You may want to play with the interserty of the ligth etc abit more.

as for the hotel, is it the vBF2 hotel or the hotel from road to jibibalishings or w/e?

That's the vBF2 hotel. And yeah, the embassy was a test subject for your settings. Everything else was done with my settings.

I wasn't supposed to show the embassy, oops...
