Sounds of Life
http://dl7.megauploads.org/download.php?id=57C44BF0
It's around 20MB. THIS IS NOT A MOD. They are sounds with the right folders and file names but I don't know how your personal setup of BF2 is. They are maily a resource for PPRM (please credit me if you uses them). I didn't record them but I did go through thousands of audio sources to get these.
What this is is a basic tweaking of the majority of sounds. I tried doing the automatic guns but it doesn't work. Pistols are changed as well as many of the effects sounds. I kept my original bullet cracks in there too because I like that better. The only difference is that ric sounds don't crack, only fllybys. It's a lot of little things. This is just the 1st one. I'll add more sounds latter on. Also, the shell sounds are much more noticable and cleaner sounding.
Enjoy the audio bliss.

@ SuvivorGrim
keep in mind that you use 22khz sounds wherever applicable for not using too much system memory. and 3p sounds always has to be mono!
im curious about you new sounds and if we can implement them into a regular release. feel free to send some preview sounds to my PM...
what you wanna be to change in detail?

I was thinking of modifying the collision sounds, explosions, things like that. Gun sounds are good but I can change them if you like. What I have so far is metal sqreeching sounds when you drive up against something metal, some bullet impacts for sand and concreate. A few explosion changes. But the coolest (and oddly simple) improvment is the brass sounds. I added some ultra high quality shell clinks and it really feels more real for some reason. I'm going through the sounds one by one to see what sounds good and what sounds cheap as is.
Note: I only have the demo to test with.

sounds are like, how i play this game, X-Fi Xtremegamer, Bose QC2 headphones, its pretty much, no it is imposable to get a better sound set up. for me sound is just as important as visuals, if your a sniper or w/e you can hear some1 creping up to you and deny them before they know whats going on, i can hear choppers take off from any point on most maps. a good/bad thing depending on how you look at it would probably be the running sounds, its good because i can hear people running from a fagillion miles away, but its bad because others can hear me from along way away too. good thing most people overlook soundcards as being important. the G3 and running sounds should really be changed as they are pretty gross now
