Extraction day Vol. 2 (Tips and Tactics before the event)

Post by R@ge »

Image Did you miss it last time?

I'm glad to inform all fans that you will get another opportunity to play extraction maps.
battlefield2.no Reality server #4 will host extraction night again on Friday the 12’Th of January.

Last time we had over 50 players logged in to try this extremely though game play!
Most of us didn’t have a clue what to do and was just running around like chickens..

Nobody knew what to do, and most of us left after the server crashed.

There is light in the tunnel!! We actually manage to find a strategy on all the maps,
but now we want to test those on the real battlefield...

I hope we could use this week to discuss how to play this, and then be better prepared to handle this game type.

The server will be ready approximated around midnight on the 11’Th of January and will then host extraction exclusively to Saturday morning....

You’re all welcome to participate, and i hope you all enjoy this event!

Maps:
1. Street
2. Raid on Moskiye
3. Gulf Of Aqaba

Issues:
For some strange reason the server will crash a couple of times when hosting Extraction.
No problem though, it will just restart automatically and will be up again after 1 minute!

Feedback:
If anyone has questions regarding this event please ask us.

This server game mode starts at midnight Friday morning?...what time zone?
So when it's 4pm Friday afternoon in london.. what time is it where the server is ?
I think it would be 12 noon on Friday on the East coast of the US.
I haven't played extract in a long time and look foward to trying it out.
I really like the idea that people will plan ahead and also stay on the server for several hours.
One of the issues I'd like to post more on is unit cohesion.
If we could get between 6-18 people to commit to several hours and also to rotate from squadmember to squadleader to commander and back again, I feel we could come up with something like real unit cohesion after a few rounds and I think that would really effect gameplay.
Either way, look foward to sneaking past some of you on Friday....!!!
And as the windshield melts
My tears evaporate
Leaving only charcoal to defend.
Finally I understand the feelings of the few.

Which of the maps is the one that crashes? Any error messages? Any particular behavior from the server, or from a player(s) before crashing?

Shoot me a PM with the details, and good luck with your event :)

The timezone here is GMT +1 if I'm not mistaken.

With the serverchashingthingy. The one time I was there the server seemed to just lock up and I had to ctrl+alt+del and stop BF2 from there.

my suggestion is remove those and play al basrah... street is the worst map for when you want to play a good game

there were quite a few when i was on then everyone left at one map and there were about 3 people left so i left too >_>

but hands down al basrah was the best map ever on the rotation, there was so much more team work, us had the a 10 providing cover on the roads, and convoys of 2 apcs a hummer and the car.

while insurgents were setting up road blocks with all the cars they could find crammed between those concrete barriers, and all hiding in the ditches that run along the roads and on roofs trying to knock out the target.

and lol at who was flying the little bird at the cehckpoint and didnt see me, they tried shooting my squad mates on the roof of the petrol station and i sent a rpg up his ***.

me me me me me me me me me me me me me me

it was really good yesterday while it lasted.

actually i dont know why all conquest servers dont throw in basrah exrtaction every now and then.

on request, if there are a small number of people say like 15 on please could you skip the rivery type map and replace it with street? i know its a nice map bt with 8 a side its just 1 big sniper fest.
