Tomahawk Missile for commander on coastal maps
what about a Tomahawk cruise missile instead of artillery on maps with sea (since it's launched by naval units)
it should be more powerful than artillery but with a longer time to reload.
you don't even need to model a ship/submarine for this because the ships can be "just further away" and not on the actual map

Well...why not use tactical nukes in the game? It sure would be some fast rounds if we were to use them.
64 Kills in one strike right? Big bada boom.
Of course 32 of these would be Team Kills, but still.... a lot of kills.

Define irony. A bunch of guys playing PR year after year. A game teaching initiative as the prime mover.
However, in regard to EA, these guys never took the initiative.

missle strikes if unguided are not that accurate, the MLRS is used on mass to flatten areas about 1km wide.

I totally agree with Michael.Michael_Denmark wrote:Well...why not use tactical nukes in the game? It sure would be some fast rounds if we were to use them.
But seriously I like the idea of tomahawk missiles but it would be eve more annoying than artillary strikes. One big boom and no chance of getting away. At least with artillary strikes you can hear the first shells coming.

Not really suggesting for PRM but I did like how GRAW handeled the air strikes. You call one in, the assest explodes and you hear a load roar when the (F-15) roars away.
For PRM I wonder if the Artillery could be modified to act more like a cluster munition. For instance take the ~10-15 shells that hit, speed up their strike time. So the total amount of shells would impact in .5 to 1 seconds versus the ten second barrage. Take the verticle lines of the artillery graphic and there you have it. A lot of programming for a very small return.

Heh maybe like a split second. Still not even close to the amount of time artillary strikes give you. Artillary strikes strike a large area, but the damage isn't done all at once. I'm sure you know already, but in PR (and BF2) when you hear the first artillary shell hit the ground, you start to run and many times you can get away. The Tomahawk would deliver the damage all at once and you wouldn't have a chance of running away.'[5NFSO wrote:Thunder']you wound hear the missle roaring in.

Here, how about this, there's a bomb called the centrifuge bomb or somthing like that. I saw it on Future Weapons. It has a mixture of anti Tank n Anti Personnel weapons on board. When it drops from the plane (they used F16 in show) it deploys a certain hieght above the ground. Then all these canisters pop out and start spinning on parachutes. THey scan the ground and communicate with eachother so they dont attack the same target, then fire a molten lead ball into a tank and blow it to pieces. Its really amazing. Also, the bomb deploys lots of AP munitions all over the ground. It looks a lot on the ground like how the Tanks firing did in the pre-release BF2. You know how they used to shoot a big dust cloud up from the ground? well thats pretty much all it does, just puffs up lots of dust, then everything is dead. amazing weapon.
