i think it would be pretty sweet to have a demolitions kit. It could take the place of the special forces kit which would be made a selectable kit.
the demolitions kit could go like this: knife, M16 (pistol if rifle gives to much power), 2 nades, 2 smoke nades, 2 C4, 2 slams, and soflam. or if thats 2 much, then have like 1 nade/smoke nade. and the demo guy would be able to unarm claymores and C4 and slams, but not at mines, that would be the job of the engineer still.
mildly off subject yet relevant with blowing things up, its kind of angering when you want to blow up a bridge, but you have to go to the top of it and put C4 right on top where everybody can see you, it doesnt make sense that you cant blow up a bridge by putting the C4 on the support columns.
another thing that really gets on my tits is how useless it is to blow up a bridge in BF2, including this mod, the majority of maps with bridges always have a little land bridge or shallow water or something of that nature that vehicles can cross. if im going to wast my time getting to the enemy's side of the map to blow up his bridge it would be nice if it actually slowed them down or became a choke point. i know you can put mines down on the landbridges and stuff when the bridge is blown but you only get 2 which doesnt really stop many things as they can just drive around them.
It would be nice to see future maps with bridges not have little landbridges and other ways for vehicles to get around. in reality bridges are a huge strategic points and huge battles have been fought over them in the past, no reason for them to be completely worthless, they should still be kept a strategic point to defend and repair, or explode.

I agree that the bridges should be more critical BUT in this game its very often NOT about slowing the enemy down as this is a primarily offensive type battle.. In a defensive battle it makes sense...
take for example Qwai River... You can blow the 2 bridges if you like and that only leaves 1 far north crossing point for vehicles.. BUT once you secure your side of the river you have to cross anyway so it has very little beneficial effect..
that being said a smart US team can use this to their advantage as they have far more air assets than the chinese.. if the bridges are gone the chinese are SOL for attacking the US side by vehicles.. but the US can quietly organize their ariel assault on the Chin side...

I'd say the most effective bridge to blow in the game is the one near the opposing team's bases (PLA or USMC) on Road to Kyongyang. That way they can't bring in their vehicles (at least they're slowed), and you don't need that bridge until you're capping their last cappable base. Which rarely happens anyway, since the uncap is so close to the second last cappable (so you usually stay on defence).

Kyong is for lower bridge ambush .... mine the bridge approach . blow the bridge and claymore the AT mines ... need squad commo but you can hold up an armored squad for 2-5 min with up to 5-6 enemy KIA with just a 4 man squad.
If you get a 3-5 man AT/rifleman squad in the enemie's woods you can cut off his reinforcements comletely.
