chinook helicopter

Post by jackal22 »

its quite widely used and used by both US,UK, and some islamic countries so you could give it to the MEC as well.

it can hold around 33 passangers, i know the bf2 engine has a limit but it could be used as a mobile parachute spawn point, like in warlord on sf.

of course that would mean that you could only stick it on certain maps where all calsses were given a chute because otherwise there would be a lot of ticket loss....

but it would be kind of cool, they could also drop hummers or ammo boxes to squads which would be brilliant.

Boeing CH-47 Chinook is a versatile, twin-engine, tandem rotor heavy-lift helicopter. The contra-rotating rotors eliminate the need for a rear vertical rotor, allowing all power to be used for lift and thrust, giving a top speed of 170 knots (196 mph, 315 km/h). Its primary roles include troop movement, artillery emplacement, and battlefield resupply. Chinooks have been sold to 16 nations, the largest users of which are the U.S. Army and the Royal Air Force (see Boeing Chinook (UK variants)). A commercial model, the Boeing 234 Chinook, is used worldwide for logging, construction, fighting forest fires, and supporting petroleum exploration operations. The H-47 is now sold by Boeing Integrated Defense Systems.

Well, from suorces i cant name, i have seen a prototype of the Merlin transpot which you can stand in the back of!
I dont mean like trying to hitch a ride on a tank and getting mauled through the turret glitchy shizzle. I mean, standing in the back, firing your mini-me out the back.

Out in the Max of 8 spaces per viechle mesh and then add the free standing space. Mount two (DECENT) 50. cals on the side(or whatever is realistic).
Make em resilient enough to withstand a few RPGs because they will get FKed up on take-off, Landing, flight and on the flipping production line. If anything, that should handle like the BH does.

Its cool to see these things and merlins fly over my school when i look out the window or at lunch break.

i think its just too big for the small scale battles of bf2, if the game could hold 100+ battles then yes it would be great.

but as a paracute platform no, as paracutes are bieng removed any way.

the only way i could see it used is on Muttrah as a last ditch effort to flood as many marines into the docks as possable, but who ever shoots it down would get hell of a kill count

Some say ti is possible to make 120 players maps, if so then that would make baltte maps much larger therefor the chinook could be usable.

Can you imagine the lag though? 60 M4s firing 900 billion rounds a second, creating a similar amount of particle effects and explosions. The server would have a heart attack.

Maps would still be the same size anyway.

Been discussed before, please use search, but glad to see you've done research on it. :)

The Chinook can't internally transport the HMMWV, since the HMMWV is too wide. It can, however, internally transport the Land Rover Defender WMIK, a variant of which is also in use by the 75th Ranger Regiment as the Ranger Special Operations Vehicle.

when i said 120 i did not mean 60 players vs 60, i just meant making the map 120 and have 64 palyers on it or maybe even a little more but not 120 players, like u said, it would have way to much lag.
