BOT Team Work

Post by yurilee60 »

Instead of personal fighting, may be you can design some bots that follow the leader--not only the infantry.
1.Tanks: A player that is a team leader works as a cheif of a tank, who leads a driver ,a aimer and a filler with UP DOWN LEFT and RIGHT buttum(Like DC tanks)But give each movement delay of human reaction, and some automatic defensive and ofensive movements when player is idle.
2.Double seat attack helicopters:
Like apache, make a team of tow pilots who control one apache.
Unlike DC, because the weapons could be guided, so let player who is a pilot lead one bot , then when flying , the player could control weapons and heli at the same time. Also give the movements delay caused by human reaction and automatic attack and defense when player is idle.

No No, i didn't mean bot controling!! I mean player control the vehicle completely...But due to reality input some bot to be controled by player...with a little delay as the reaction delay from player's command~

We are acutally looking into greater uses for bots....not just the ones who would steal helis and such in Desert Combat, just to flip them into the ground 5 minutes later. As I'm sure EA/Dice have said there will be a great new addition for single player games (most likley better bot AI)

AI has been a big focus for the BF2 team, they know that as the packet size increases they are excluding people without access to broadband so they are making it playable in a single player environment

But they say that in every game, i mean every game, but they cant get them better, even in new fps games with bots, they still continue reacting like people without brains

Well, in Unreal Tournament and in UT2004, the AI has always been a big focus, and the bots in that series are top notch. They sometimes trick you into thinking they're just non-verbose humans!

Bots are not so bad idea....if the AI is quite cleverly designed it can be good fun...Full Spectrum Warrior is based on bots...or semi bots..and apparently it is a very good game..will see when the PC version is out...
