"Extract" Game PLay in a LAN Game !!

I was wondering if anyone had run the Extract game option in a LAN Game. I have 20 guys ready to lan and want to play the Extract game play, but no one can see the server.

ye this a a vBF2 bug where EA have kindaly only let the LAN server menu only show up conquest games.....

it will not show up any other servers that are running any other gamemodes....

the only real way you can join is by logging into a MP account, then doing a connect by IP to the server.

These is anouther way (in theory) to join the server thou ive never tested it and its pretty compicated.

you could try renaming the gpm_xtract.py to gpm_cq.py (on the server)...
and then start a conquest game which will be xtract.

not sure how that would effect xtract... but I think it'll work just fine... but dont pin me on that... I think Egg or Egor know the answer.

start the server with a conquest map then when everyone has joined swich to the xtract map(s)

Try connecting via hlsw.
I got no Idea how to set it up, but it will propably work

Use a programe called "hamatichi" http://www.hamachi.cc/
i use this all the time to play games when em i Download them, Its very good and a small download, It creates well a Virtual LAN over a wide area Widearea Area Network you can have up to 16 ppl connected to your server at once if i remember!

Hamachi is great, but the server would still show up under LAN games, and so he can't see ir when it's running Xtract.

One thought, what if you have a conquest map first, on which everyone joins, then you change the map to some Extract one?
