ejod as usmc and we are getting pinned down in the square because mec have got about a billion people on the roof tops one road back, camping the streets.
any way, some guy jacked a vodnik, parked it up againts a wall and about 10-15 of us managed to climb over it and jump over the other side of the wall... needless to say mec got royaly ****ed
thats what pr should be about.
and brilliant driving skills to who ever managed to park it along side the wall with no external view. (was between a flower box and another wall with barely any room to spare)
Well in reality I can understand not being able to operate an enemy tank, but hell I could hotwire a Vodnik...or even push start the forker, I dont believe they even use a key to start them.
yeah but the will all be locked for a very good reason...now when you see a vodnik coming and yo are USMC...YOU CAN OPEN FIRE without thinking about it!
yee haa...just like mt pappy used to do backon the farm...bullets for everyone!!!!

I LOVED using it on the Northwest flag of Desert Combat's 73 Eastings map. That flag had a wall around the majority of the area and there were only 2 entrance points for vehicles & infantry so the enemy would camp those like crazy. So most players just ended up taking a Hummer close to the wall, jumping out and then jumping on the hood & roof to get over the wall.
hehe...
This is what Germans would do in FH1 in the south wall of Ramelle Neuville. Wed park an apc and just hop onto it and over the wall

That is exactly what my team did once, and yes the MEC got really screwed up.
And this is exactly why I usally play AT and climb on the house ontop of this specified wall...
It`s great fun to see 6 Usmc guys jumping on a humvee/vodnik and then being spread all over the place
heh yeh but knowing that the vodnik will always be enmey/friendly takes the skill out of it and the risk...
just catering for a more vanilla trend of people.
however i understand that it does take away the grey thing so il put up with it, but it would be 1000 times better if you could fix the grey thing without locking them.
In a war, do you REALLY wanna be driving around in an enemy vehicle?
Massive full-scale warfare (what is happening in PR world) would dictate, a constant state of chaos.
Would you REALLY drive around in an enemy marked vehicle? No.
You would never make it home.
Yes of course the skill of driving the car is not much, but I think the realism aspect comes in that, if you WERE to encounter an enemy vehicle, you would either
A) blow it in place.
B) tow it back to your base as spoils of war.
Sure in a rare circumstance a special forces unit MIGHT decide to jack a vehicle, but thats hardly a standard to set in PR. Right now especially in current release, its 50% of the time your driving in an enemy vehicle. That just feels wrong.
This is just from a realism standpoint, here are just a few other reasons to make this important change...
1. TK issues with MEC guys driving Humvees
2. Realism issues with USMC guys driving Nanjings / Insurgents driving Humvees, etc - while on the very rare occasion I could see this occuring in real life, it certainly would not occur nearly as much as it does in PR currently.
3. It's not that realistic that a Jeep is left with the keys in it all the time in a combat zone.. just wouldn't happen and so "stealing" a vehicle just wouldn't be as easy as it is in BF2 / PR.
4. when you exit a non locked vehicle, it leaves a grey vehicle on the minimap visible to all players on both teams. It's a big "they are attacking here" sign.
5. when you enter an unlocked vehicle, it was previously grey and visible to all players, and now it dissapears, so it's like a big sign saying "they are moving out from there"

On the battle of 74 eastan map in Desert Combat mod I use to drive my squad in a humvee and attack to outpost on the side. We climbed up the humvee and jumped over the wall then killed the Iraq army guys easy.
