Is the British sniper kit as you can see 3 Frags 3 Smokes
Image
Look at the white building can you see the guys on the roof?

How about now lol,
The point of this post is so the sniper scope should have a very very high zoom level (For the British and US not sure about MEC and China)
The current Cross hairs are fine as they are on the L96.
Sniper need 3 Frags and 3 Smokes maybe 2 colored (red) and one Grey

Thanks, Joe

I think the scope zoom is fine, and in 0.5 there will be 2 different zoom levels, right? But in pr you don't get so long view distances/big maps that you would need 20x zoom. What ever the l96 has right now is pretty good.

Sniper kits are going to be changed, but not to this. In factyou will be dissapointed. We want to take out frag grenades from the sniper kit. This is just so he is more aware of whats around him when he is found is kind of screwed. I'm not exactly sure what the new loadout will be.

Remember guys, theres only so far you can go with reality before it begins to be effect fun. The team has to get a balance between realism and playability. 3 frags would give the sniper to much power.

I think so. But that is huge compared to the ones they use on assault rifles.. maybe because they couldn't make a small one that would work well with long ranges?

It's actual an Ordanace Survey mapping device. He's mapping out the ground on his laptop with it like a 'folding @ home' open source setup.

the thing that bugs me about the semi auto sniper rifles is that there are used like assualt rifles, if they miss their shot people rather start tapping that mouse button till they hit their target or run out of ammo. its been reduced since the introduction of the pick up kit, but is off set by some total noobs bieng first to pick it up, and my god its going get worse when the M14 pops up.

ive kind of gone off topic it would seem, but............ not really, if the power of the sniper rifle was increased people would just be dropping people like flies with body shots.

i think that a for a realism game to work the kits shouldnt just have the realistic load out, but for them to work be limited equipment/gameplay wise so they are used closer to their r/l role.

all sniper and DM marksmen are used for at the moment is it climb the scoreboard and knock up some easy kills.

Interchangable between Thermal and NV, The reason its so big is because small IR illuminators work for about 100-200ft.

that is how they are mostly used. But when I play as a sniper/dm (which is quite often) I still try to do my best to help my squad. You know, cover them when they advance, spot enemies and tell them what I see with the voip. You could do this with any class that has binocs, but I don't want to just sit there for the majority of the round just observing the battlefield, it would get boring.

About the scope zoom, the real-life M24 and L96A1 have 10x scopes by default, the Chinese QBU-88 has 4x, and the SVD has 4x or 6x.

I've never been in the military (too young to even consider it) and have never handled a firearm, but this is what I've gathered from the Internet.
