Looks like some marines use them in Iraq. Theres also some reports that they find them on insurgencents too.
So...any chance it will be in PR? Haha
Just an idea.

Well, of course they're finding them on insurgents and in their caches. Where do you think the Marines are getting them?!ViEtCoNgToM wrote:Looks like some marines use them in Iraq. Theres also some reports that they find them on insurgencents too.

Not likely, I'm afraid, unless we borrow a model from another mod for use in the insurgent faction. Good to see someone who wants to play with the old toys, though.

Well, considering that the M2 .50 cal is in the game and its that old, not really.!ViEtCoNgToM wrote:Darn haha one of my favorite world war 2 guns. It would be quite the first though for a modern setting game to have a gun like that in it haha.
While not a contemporary setting, I think the PPsh41 was in Battlefield Vietnam, though.

And this is represented in PR when a player picks up an enemy kit. As for adding the PPSH into PR, I think it would make no more sense than adding any other weapon, including a Mosin Nagant. Yes, these weapons may be encountered in many AoE, but they're certainly not issued by any military.SGT.Collado wrote:I saw a pic the other day a soldier with an AK. I was like W.T.F? He seemed to be in the streets somewhere so he was really using it.
As for why that Marine might be using that AK, it appears he is a gunner on a Humvee, and may not be issued a rifle for personal defense; this is where a battlefield pickup comes in handy. I recall a picture of a Humvee gunner who had an RPG-7 tucked in next to him.

I know a LOT of guys (and girls) in Iraq who are using AKs. Most of them because they HATE the M-16 and all it's cousins. The 223 round can't penetrate a cinder block (but the 7.62x39 will) and the m-16 is a really picky weapon when it gets dusty.
A friend of mine has a son in Iraq. He was always having us buy stuff for him that the military should be supplying. I even had to go through my closet and pull the laces out of my old boots for him. The last straw came when he said that a pack of dogs had invaded their camp looking for food. They ran them off by shooting at them but then suffered an ammunition shortage. He wanted us to send civilian mailorder ammo to his APO address (which isn't legal, it turns out).
To make a long story short. He now has an Ak-47 and can buy ammo locally, dirt cheap.
