'[R-DEV wrote:Eddie Baker']Actually, one feature of the M9 bayonet and of the SA80 bayonet is that they can be attached to their scabbards in a certain way to form wirecutters (see attached). :)
True, but:

a) Thats a knife and its scabbard, he was suggesting jabbing the fence with a knife until it breaks.

b) The SA80 bayonet definetly isnt in PR, the M9 might be (I cant remember waht the generic combat knife is, probubly an M9).

What we really need is Topper Harley's knife from Hot Shots: Part Deux!
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

the last thing used to take out wire, is boltcutters.
World war 2, tghe bangalore torpedo (saving private ryan) was the last resort if there were no tanks available (see film : The Big Red One).
Artillery, Tanks/vehicles, sometimes with "Can-opener" wire-cutting attachments usually was the norm.

Wire in a combat defence against assaulting infantry is rarely used without claymores and AP/ATmines either. And those tanks rushing your perimiter will of course be Heavy/AT - /Tow -missiled to death without infantry clearing the way ahead of them.

Hence the value of barbed wire. - Arty the damn stuff., but WW1 will teach us that it wasn't always that effective at clearing it.

I like the idea of a "Disarm" tool for Engineers. that can

1 - disarm c4 packs/IED's.
2 - Disarm claymores from the reverse side.
3 - Cut wire barricades.

(if necessary just change the wrench tool).

I'm thinking boltcutters for discrete attacks. Nothing is less discrete than detonating a large amount of HE.

Both options could be available for use, although the current opened fence statics look more like they were cut than they were exploded.

This is the best idea!

in Al Basarah you can run the fence over, just use that fence for all fence from now on, so my hummers massiveness can be put to use smashing things. and if you put a SLAM onto stuff like that wood that is used to board up holes in corrugated steel fence it doesnt make a sound 1/2 the time anyway, so its silentish

The USMC knife along with the Brit knife is the USMC Kabar (pronounced K-bar). You can tell this by looking at the base of the blade. It says "USMC" on it. That and the blook groove and lack of serration. Looks just like the real one n I love it. Too bad it isnt the regular Leather Disk grip one. Sorry, I'm a traditionalist lol.

'[DVB wrote: TRIggS']Right now it is almost a weapon just to score more points. I believe you get more points knifing someone than shooting them which is what we want NOT to happen. why stab someone in the leg when you can shoot them in the head.
Because knife is *always* a one shot kill. For me at least. Some people seem to have lag issues or something. If you come across an enemy in a corridor, it's better to knife him that try shooting while he bunnyhops all over the damn place.
