napalm, anyone?

Post by Tom#13 »

ok now i know napalm is and has been used by the US army (fallujah for example) so theres no probs with realism. but i wanna know the majority view, if its sounds shit-fun or shit-dumb

hey brokenarrow isnt the picture on your sig napalm?' :) . but youre right it would have to be limited to jungle or urban enviroments, it would be most useful for taking out bases, snipers or squads. at least thats what it was in BFV.

yes it is in fact napalm, plus my futile attempts at making a sig look cool. napalm sort of goes hand in hand with the name brokenarrow so i thought it was appropriate.

Well, not so much napalm, but exploding fuel tanks spreading burning fuel over an area would be a pretty cool effect.

that would be cool, dunno if its possible though, unless you can give napalm bomb effects to the fuel tanks in the game, then it would appear that way i guess.

well the blu 82s i as talking about in the other thread are dropped by MC-130s since theyre so huge but i bet napalm can be dropped by really anything with a bomb mount. id bet among others A-10s and F/A-18s.

b52's? but i spose they dont get in low enough to use it accurately enough. not that napalm was ever a presicion weapon but u dont want to be bombing civilians. then again there arent any in bf2 (but there are a few threads which mention them possibly being in PR)

i hate artillery also and think that the commander operated stuff needs to be removed. i think there are incendiary artillery rounds, then again theres pretty much every kind of artillery imaginable.

I was actually thinking more for the fuel tanks of vehicles that have taken a pounding, immobilised and burning in the field, then the tank goes up. I've watched my fair share of burning vehicles and it's always a nice effect.

I'm guessing it'd utilise similar code, hence why I thought it better to mention it in this thread instead of starting another :>
