How does one get involved in becoming an advisor for your mod, as well as a beta tester?
The reason I ask... I introduced myself to this community yesterday, and have begun commenting where I could about what it is that's considered realistic and not for the Marine Corps.
I'm a former active duty Marine of 4 years... having served in the Infantry with 2 separate Battalions, and in 2 separate deployments (one on a MEU to the Med./Iraq, the other to Africa as a security force).
I want nothing more than to see a mod come out that takes the Marine Corps to the height it deserves. In recent years, the Marines have been outkasted from television and gaming (for example look at the newest show, "Over There"... depicting the Army yet again), and if anything did come out it was VERY poor (First to Fight for example had potential but failed).
This is one of the first REAL Marine games in a long time, and the damn developers have already screwed that up. There's a lot I see wrong with the game from a realistic standpoint, and I think I could definitely help this mod team out in creating and testing a realistic mod.
So, if you guys would like any additional help from someone who's, "been there done that"... I'd be more than happy to help. You can contact me via AIM/MSN anytime.

Welcome to the forums. They have quite a good group of advisors already, but that doesnt mean they dont need more. As for beta testing http://realitymod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=756

I signed up for that... found the thread 2 minutes after posting here... look forward to helping out any way I can. Like I said, it just chaffes me that they don't make a SOLID game for the Marines even on the scale of America's Army.
This is as god as we're going to get for now... and as long as the modders have a flow of ACCURATE information and are open to the suggestions, then we could be looking at one GREAT mod.
Let me know if there's anything I can help with.

There's also First to Fight... which was, quasi-realistic... just on an aging engine and no real room to explore. Games like America's Army set the pace, and the developers need to get there *** in gear and realize that 9/10 times the Marines are the first in. We deserve some credit!BrokenArrow wrote:ive seen your posts and think your qualified, then again i have no decision making power haha. really the only game ive seen with marines was men of valor, i dont think that was very realistic. im all for seeing a realistic portrayal of the USMC.
Thanks for the compliment by the way... while I was not high in rank and transferred around the Marines like some other people... I did keep my eyes and ears open. I sucked in everything, and can usually argue fact over fiction quite easily. I'm just very adamant about getting a serious mod out there to finally give the Marines some serious credit.

you definitly do, im not up to the age requirement and really havnt considered serving in the military ( or what college im looking at for that matter) but id definitly think the marines would be my choice, theyre the ones who are asked to do more with less and i think thats where some of the best trainint around is... plus im biased by my grandfather who faught in WWII with the marines at guadalcanal (and other places cant remember exactly)
