Points for blowing stuff up!
Not sure if it has been brought up, but spec ops SHOULD really get points for blowing arty, uav, and radar, i know in PR all those things will be enhanced or replaced with something else, but still the idea for helping your team out like that should be rewarded.
also, i hate the fact that ONLY C-4 can take stuff out, its rediculious, im not exactly sure how to remedy this, but my idea is this.
Arty and whatever else PR decides to add in, ****... when i got to this point my gf called, and i am back now and lost my train of thought.... ill get back to this
ok make sure that anything the commander has that is destructable be at a main base that cannot be captured, or have it in far off locations so it wont generally be worth a vehicles time (such as a tank) to take it out, but close enough to where a team in a FAV can go out and repair it without TOO much hassle. and of course each thing should be spread out, so planes dont have such an easy time bombing them.
speaking of planes they should have to LAND to rearm.

Yes. They get destruction points ONLY with these changes:
1) C4 was made to be less lethal to vehicles.
2) Tanks and APCs should be able to withstand more than 2-3 packs.
3) Spec Ops only had maybe 2 or 3 packs of C4; not 5
4) C4 setup time of 3 seconds application time was added per pack

I think C4 is generally about 2"x 1" thick and about 12" long - standard issue
: which can then be molded in to any shape.
so if spec ops have any kind of pack/ammo puches then they can carry allot of this stuff.
All you need is a detonation cap to go with it and a fuse to blow up the detonater which obv is percieved all in one pack in BF2 then remotly set off.
I also agree 2 packs of standard issue packs of C4 is not enough to blow up a tank or an apc.
Allthough im not sure that is what BF2 spec-ops carry with them.
Allthough im not sure bf2's models of C4 are totally innacurate because i have read that you can mix C4 with mineral oil it turns in to a paste which can then be sealed in bags etc which is very easy to 'stuff' in to pockets or bags etc and for a soldier like spec ops it would be more comfortable too.
But obviously the c4 is washed down again and in no way could blow up a tank with two packs.
However lets say BF2 is infact using C4 in such large packs. That would mean there is about 4 sticks of standard issue C4 stuffed in a green 'sticky' bag with a detonater taped to the top along with the remote device bag in BF2 which would mean every 2 packs to take out an apc ort ank would = 8 sticks of standrard C4 which could be enough
.
.....Or BF2 just made an innacurate model of C4 in size and power

someone post how C-4 works on vehicles IRL, i never thought about how unrealistic BF2 C-4 was. Also EA is in the 1.3 patch making it so you get points for destroying stuff.
I think 5 packs of C-4 is accurate, because in BF2 the model they show is about the size of hmm... a 2 inch thick mouse pad (not hte best example i bet) but you could fit about 5 things that large between 1 or 2 mailcarrier bags. But as for the lethality of that much C-4, im going to have ot agree it probably isnt enough to blow up a tank with 2 sticks of it.

Explosives work in strange ways and C4 can not directly blow through tank armor by putting one pack - normal issue pack on the side or top of a tank (probably not the bottom either)
I watched a programme before about the stuff and i remember them putting a block about the size of a fist on top of an overturned boat. They set of the C4 to leave only a black mark? which was very interesting because they then explained how it reacts with things better.
There example then showed the boat in the water with the same amount stuck submerged under the boat. The result was a huge hole because the air pressure helped blast a hole.
Again i do not know how concentrated the stuff was they were using.
But another example i found on a website from an ex demo guy from the american army tells how he allways used C4 for general stuff like cooking food using a dice sized piece (but they could never jump on it or let it burn completly out?-sound dangerous).
One of the stories he has explains how they were knocking posts in and the sledgehammer head snapped of the handle and they couldent egt it out so he put a whole 2"x1" thickness 12" long strip and molded it up and stuck it on top of the head in one of the holes which they then placed a detonater and fuse and watched at a sfae distance. The wood was completely gone but the metal was untouched to which they placed a new handle.
I think C4 is more of a direct "cutting explosion" that does not have a wide radious unles elements help it like water etc.
The guy also explained to get a tree to fall down he would mold the C4 in to a pencil thcknes from one pack and stick it around the trunk of a tree. It cut a 'slice' in the treeall the way through but diident blow it right up.
How much stronger is armor then wood?
I think we need some light from one of the military advisors because im just passing info on and i dont have any more sources that explain this. so i hope they do.

You are refering in a loose way about 'shaped charges'.
With the right mixture and some (substance I wont tell you) C-4 can be used in conjunction with other charges to cut almost anything off or in half.
It just depends on the applacation. A clamore is a simple shaped charge.
All the force goes in a set direction and width.
I could elaborate for days but the ATF might get a bit upset.
C-4 and S-tech is some *** kickin stuff. I can pick up a 70 ton tank and throw it on its back like a turtle with just a few pounds,
If the Devs need more info send me a e-mail.

Id like to know why super C4 isent used by the army then? all of the above info came directly from a serving soldier off a website who obv doesent know about your substances because from what i read from the article they could have used it.
Also shaped charges would not be very effective in the terms of special forces using them as they need to stick it fast and get away not set it up first.
I was refering to standard size issued C4. Not any concuctions.
