Imo MEC's Uniforms are just too brown. I don't think that it's that little bit of green which makes the MECs better visible. I bet you won't recognise the difference between the vanilla MEC iniforms and the gry/brown ones of you on 50 meters.

Edit: just realised that it's not the "brownnes" which makes MECs better visible... it's the darkness. And the green in the Uniform lets the MEC look darker than with the grey. Of course removing or towning down the brown would make the MECs less visible too.

But there's one Point you may not forget. If the MEC uniform gets more USMC-like (more yellow/beige and less brown) , it will be harder to differ between US an MEC ---> more TK

Look at all the TKs in all those screenshots.

Anyway, isn't the MEC uniform based on a real military camouflage from the region?
(Lebanon, I think, uses this pattern)

Maybe change it to the camo scheme of Saudi Arabia, which looks like the old US chocolate chip pattern:

I was just thinking that. Also, look at Iraq's uniform pattern which I think is a pretty decent pattern for the MEC, but I will have to find a pic. The pic above though is an excellent idea though.

Also, can you take a look at the China uniform and maybe do something about the red in it?

I did this too. In vanilla, the vest of the heavy soldiers is almost black, I made it brown, and I also lightened the dark sweater thing of the light soldiers.

This combined with the lack of green, makes for much better camofluage.

Re: Tks, I could have made the uniforms much lighter, so they look like the US does, but that would be bad for that reason, so I didn't go overboard with the lightening.

Use basically an old US pattern for US's enemy? Also, I doubt MEC would include Suadia Arabia, they are to much allies with the US.

I hope your joking. I'm in single player, those are bots.

What! You mean there is camoflauge in this game? The way the game engine works and the lighting you can spot an enemy a mile away... I honestly dont think camo helps.

Just open objects_client.zip inside Bf2's/ pr's folder, look for the corresponding skin you want. They're all saved as .dds files, so you'll need the PS pluggin to open such files, just google it you'll find it easily.

@Geze

Dude, I really apreciate this. Not only for making MEC less "noticeable" but for making uniform variations. One of the things I really liked in FH was that for in every scenario there was the corresponding uniform that was used by each faction in such theatrhe or conflict. This is not only realistic, but gives the game the feeling it's more "expansive"

Custom skins are always a step forward; you may step of the path, but progress is made.

Sorry for the improv proverb.

Iranian Camo:

As you see, it is a mess, anything goes. What I think I am going to do for the MEC Desert Urban Combat Uniform, is base it off the choc chip pattern, but remove the choc chips, and add in greys. Adding a modern twist. I want to give MEC something modern, yet unique. Also, I want to remove the sweater thing on the light soldiers.

Anyways, I'll post the new version on Friday

OK... I have been playing around in the Zip files but I can't find the one that corresponds to anything in game except the first person view.

I can't find the MEC uniforms, just some stuff that looks like dev debris that didnt make it into the last update. Where should I be looking to open these files and start trying on different outfits for MEC?
