I see me not entering vehicles anymore while not being the driver. Imagine some **** just driving around in circles at your homebase and you cant exit. Havent you seen the stupid pilots in Muttrah? Same counts for drivers now. Some will just drive in the zone for quick death and you are stuck to him. And it is especially annoying on big maps when you cant exit the vehicle. I will have to do a lot more by foot i guess.
Does the driver get a teamkill on people exiting the vehicle at full speed?

Are you working on the radio spam? I would appreciate removing the comm rose except the spotting system and silence the sound for "Enemy forces spotted" and "Enemy units on the move". Or even better, remove comm rose completely and make spotting a feature of binoculars by just clicking left mouse button and a reload delay.

Does anybody know if the punkerbuster check is affected by changing the sound files? I want to have all not spotting related sounds removed and the spotting sounds changed to short tones of different frequency. One for Infantry, one for ground vehicles, one for air vehicles. Or maybe 5 different tones by splitting up in armor/non-armor and chopper/aircraft. Has someone done this already?

Beside that i like to thank you for milestone releases. It is like getting a complete new game, for free.

....that kit requests will now work in single player, in 0.4 Single Player when I tryed to request a kit it just crashed to desktop. :)

yes but there are bugs with main base flag requests. you will howerver be able to request kits from APCs, rally points and supply crates still thou.

We can't design the game completely around griefers and fools... it's amazing how much time we do spend on that and there will still be twats doing twat things we can't address without compromising many other aspects of the game. Hopefully those sort of folks won't hang around the mod.

Much chat spam has been removed, but there is still radio spam.

Punkbuster will kick you for modifying any of the .zip files.

I nthought that it didn't do the filechecking thing on PR? Because i never have to wait for it to do it after loading?

How does this differ from server side punkbuster MD5 checking using the MD5s provided through punksbusted.com?

A Dev asking the questions? :p

We generate the MD5 files and they are hosted on the server you connect to, if the MD5 files on the server are diffrent from the MD5 files on your PC, Punkbuster will kick you. thats how it works in vBF2 aswell :p

A DEV and a Server admin asking a question actually 8)

I got the feeling from other threads I've asked about that there is a difference in the MD5s that have been discussed recently with PR 0.5 (seems more like client side check) than MD5 checks using the server and PB configs from http://www.punksbusted.com which were actually available for 0.32 (but there was problems with people who patched to 0.32 and those who installed the full 0.32)

It`s going to be an learning experience for sure!
My initial thought is that COMMUNICATION between the driver and any passenger (regardless of the vehicle/air asset) is now VITAL! I actually see a use for the "Get out" message now... Passengers should have had an "Stop here/let me off now" message available once in a vehicle.. Doable??

PunkbusteD MD5 checkes are different than PunkbusteR MD5 checks.

I think the PunkbusteD stuff is superior and doesn't affect client loading times, but it would require that server admins run PunkbusteD to do file integrity checking, so we went with the traditional BF2 Punkbuster method.

So load times are going to double or triple to match regulay BF2 load times?

That sucks. Hacking had never been a huge problem in PR and now we will pay for the hackers with 2 minutes ever round.

How you find a way to complain about a mod team implementing anti cheat tools is beyond me.

Haven't your parents ever tought you anything? Only enter the vehicle of someone you TRUST. Never take rides from strangers.

It is frustrating; it takes a heck of a long time, and for those of us with slower load times, it's not uncommon (in vBF2) to end up joining the game after it starts even when everyone's loaded from scratch.

However, it's a neccessary evil, and i'd never have thought twice if it was in there in the first pplace, so i can't see any reason to complain about it being put in. Just means i can afford to read that extra column in the newspaper while i'm waiting for it to load.
