No.... Actually, I was going to play with some ACUs for the US. I just cant figure out for the life of me how to implement the uniforms in-game (except for the 1st person view).
Don't worry, I already made a mess of things and will reinstalling my entire BF2 as soon as .5 comes out.
I'm just tinkering.
In my mods/pr/objects/objects_client/soldiers/mecsf/textures file, there are a few chocolate chip pattern uniforms and some other stuff. Take a look.

Thanks, I got it now... I look forward to seeing your work... Don't worry. I have no intention of stealing your sunshine.
Here is a link for camo textures if you don't feel like making them yourself:

Currently I am planning 3 versions;
1. MEC Desert - for maps mostly desert, little urban. (eg. fallujah) - uniform is sand coloured
2. MEC Desert Urban - most MEC maps are these. EJOD, Muttrah etc. etc. - uniform is sand coloured, with greys
3. MEC Woodland - for MEC maps which are mostly green, with trees etc. - uniform would be mostly green with browns

I like the concept behind this project. It would be nice to give the MEC a woodland, urban and desert camoflague patterns (Instead of the broing Vanilla pattern they currently have). Even if it doesn't help tremendously with blending into the environment, it's a great plus for an immersion factor. Same can be said about the PLA.

Okay guys, I did some work on the desert camo:
OLD:

NEW, so far:

how does it look so far?
I think I should darken the vest a bit more... not sure
Also the detail (pockets etc) is not clear enough, maybe I should darken it up
comments?
(note the shoes and hands are a little bug, I've already fixed it, made them black again)

I think the vest would likely remain black or green or blue as I can't ever remeber seeing a bullet proof vest of that style with camo. I'd just keep it the same color it is in the normal mec uniform.
I do really like this new 'choc chip' style stuff, I think its alot more realistic given what the ME uses now, compared to a completely made up fake uniform by DICE. I would say just try to take pictures on highest quality, and try to give the new texture some more detail, maybe more detail in the alpha maps? looking very good though. Maybe you could retexture the PLA a bit when you're done with mec?

yes thats exaclty what the body armor should look like i think. very good!
please take pics on high settings though so i can see what it actually looks like. i keep wanting to say 'make higher definition textures' but its because your on low or medium gfx. i think they look pretty good as is though, as soon as the boots and gloves go back.
just need to see a high gfx setting pic to give feedback.
btw, how do you open a dds file with photoshop? now i wanna try...
