Also, does anyone know if this game supports widescreen monitors (I mean takes advantage of the wider screen to give you a greater field of view)?
I also think some sort of multimonitor support would be totally awesome - even better than TrackIR (although probably more difficult to do). Other modern games neglected to include this feature due to the perceived small size of the user base that would be able to utilise it. I believe, however, that far more people will be able to take advantage of multimonitors with the advent (and rising popularity) of technologies such as PCI express, nVidia's SLI (and SLI2) and ATI's Crossfire. These new features are already increasing the number of gamers who have two graphics cards in their system, allowing output to up to four monitors.
This means that the situational awareness of the gamer can be dramatically improved, which in turn increases realism (combat pilots spend a great deal of their time in the cockpit looking anywhere but forward) and immersion. For example, the view out of the left of the cockpit could be displayed on a monitor positioned to the left of the user, the view out of the right of the cockpit on a right-hand monitor, forward view on the centre monitor and perhaps the controls and readouts on the fourth monitor. This could work in addition to the immersion-enhancing technology of TrackIR. I have been fortunate enough to experience this system in FS2004 and I can attest to the massive improvement in enjoyment it brings (my brother built a cockpit with 3 projectors).
