Make sure your sensitivity is turned down. Choppers in real life, and in this game, are very sensitive. Make sure you practice in a local server also.

Create local, then type "sv.numPlayersNeededToStart 1" without the quote marks.

Rotors won't spin unless he has one Clypp.

My advice, pull back as soon as you take off, nad try to hover for a couple of seconds.

Actually, I find Throttle Lever + Mouse ideal for choppers. Keyboard doesn't let you set the throttle to say 75%, where the throttle evel does. Can't fly planes for **** like this, but hovering, landing, etc, I find very easy using that setup.

Yeah, if there's one thing I've always hated about flying in BF2, it's the throttle and how there's no way to keep it at one value, unless it's 0% or 100%. You can keep it close, but you have to tap the keyboard and it's stupid and annoying.

remember to type it in console and not just in chat, you can get the console up by pressing the button over tab (tab is the one with the two arrows, it is just over caps lock)

mouse is the way to go, more precise than stick

it's just preference, I've been using a stick for years so to me there's nothing better. I used to fly with keyboard years ago and it was retarded, it was even worse with the mouse because it's just so unnatural.

Interestingly the mouse emulates RL helicopter control imputs better than a PC joystick as you fly with your fingers rather than moving your whole arm. It realy would depend on the type of joystick you are using but the pivot point is just below the grip and in RL the actual pivot point of the cyclic stick is down at the floor which causes the control movements to be more horizontal.
You can prob own me in PR with a joystick so I guess the is no issue haha
