RPG 7
Hi,
I am dissapointed of how you people modelled the RPG in this mini mod
RPG-7 is capable to destroy a tank at close range with one hit specially M1's.
Everyone knows that.
In game it needs 5-6 hits untill its destroyed so annoying.
And M4 is like uzi with scope.I mean the rate of fire.
No need to experience it to conclude whats wright, you just need fact and information.
And the quastion icon when some one gets shot from the opposite side has to go.No icons where the enemy is located only sound movements.Maybe in the future youll be able to
One more thing if dev team could implement the realistic bullet ballistics just like in RedOrchesta 1945 game.In reality mod weapons are to accurate. For example if you move alot your aiming preformace drains and your less accurate. So youll be forced to rest if you want to hit somthing at far distance.Maybe in the future of reality mod youll be able to rest your weapon on objects and youll be more accurate.
thx!

There have been reports of RPGs doing absolutely no harm and the warhead itself simply bouncing off the armour currently found on the M1A1, same goes for the Challenger 2 armour, where you got your information from is questionable as RPG 7s are used particularly on light skinned vehicles and/or personnel.
I suppose you have experience with an UZI to make that suggestion?

1st point,
2nd
but one fault i noticed,
range should have no bearing, as it doesnt use kinetic energy to punch through armor but rather the explosive warhead.

im not gonna lock this, as your new here and i want to give you your chance to explain your suggestions.

do you have proof of this, i have never heared of a M1 being destroyed by a single hit from a RPG-7RPG-7 is capable to destroy a tank at close range with one hit specially M1's.

the m4 and a usi are two totally different weapons, explain what you mean. And M4 is like uzi with scope.

Like everyone, I'm going to have to disagree with you. RPG's have been known to disable M1's but this is the rare exception and even in these situations the crew remained unhurt. Current MBT's were designed to have armor that made them impervious to older AT weapons.
Thanks luizinhuu for the find

That is false. I have spoken with a person who served in an M1 tank crew in Iraq. He has said that the RPG will only destroy the tank if it is fired from above and it hits the engine exhaust ports. His tank has been struck by at least 2 RPGs which just put a little dent in the armor and shook the crew around a little bit. The Abrams that have been destroying in Iraq are virtually all from shaped IEDs and VBIEDs.Zimbower wrote:RPG-7 is capable to destroy a tank at close range with one hit specially M1's.

I hope not. The M4 is more accurate and more powerful than an UZI. They both shoot lots of bullets if that's what you mean...And M4 is like uzi with scope.
And the question icon when some one gets shot from the opposite side has to go.No icons where the enemy is located only sound movements.
The spotted system is used to simulate people using proper comm procedures of identifying enemies for the squad. Since most players are not professional soldiers and do not know how to quickly inform people of enemies this works. I would like to have the icons not move after being spotted. This system can go eventually I think.

More suggestions.
Ak47 kalasnjikov should be able to penetrate some objects in game but not all.
Some info about the AK47 rounds http://world.guns.ru/ammo/am05-e.htm
In future adding possibility to lean and shoot behind corners.

actually, there has been one confirmed m1a2 that was knocked out by a single rpg - dont get me wrong, it didnt blew up or so, but it wasn´t operatable - i´ve got an official report somewhere on my harddisk, basically, it was a "golden rpg" - it managed to penetrate the tank at one weak spot and through even more luck knocked out some critical systems.'[R-MOD wrote:Thunder']

but apart from that, an m1a2 can easily take several rpg´s, basically the front is immune to those.
another little side not, actually the velocity of the round increases the effect of the heat-warhead, but not too much

if we do this then combat would be a totaly different idea. I think it should be able to kill objects like the destroyable wooden fences and they should for sure go through small trees. I saw somthing on the history chanel about the AK-47 vs the M16. And the AK won on reliability and damage potental but the M16 one out on Accurcey and that it is easy to make unlike the AK that needs to have wooden parts made for it.BlackwaterEddie wrote:Well, it fires a 7.62 round, same as many other rifles, it should be able to penetrate certain objects such as thin wood etc, but then again, why would you want it to?
Also the AK is twice as heavy as a M16, and has easly 4 times the recoil. On the other hand the M16 has less recoil and is easyer to control. Then agian you can't hit a person with the butt of an M16 hard enough to knock them out without breaking the M16 in half. An AK you can realy hit sombody with it and then go and shoot them when your done.
In short both guns are pritty much on equal footing when it comes to fire arms. It's only one was made to be high tech, the other was made to be low tech.

I think the Uzi comparison was that the ROF of the M4A1 was too low, as the real steel M4A1 has an ROF of 800+ RPM (in game 900 RPM, same as the M16 IIRC) while the Uzi has a ROF of around 550-600 RPM.
And if the AK is going to penetrate some objects, the G3 should too. And it should penetrate more objects, as it fires an even more powerful round (Remember, the case length is important too. One of my pet hates is people who simply say 7.62 will go through anything. Try it with 7.62x25mm Russian, I dares ya). No more hiding behind planks for the Marines, I think!

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!

im pretty 100% positive that the RPG is the #1 killer to coalition forces. and i dont think the guy that you talked to really drove a M1 tank because i will tell you right now that the RPG doesnt "dent" things, it shoots molten metal out the tip, thats how it gets through armor, so there would be no dent just uglied up metal. and the front of tanks are ridiculously thick, i dont think you can dent 2 foot thick metal.

Man I enjoy playing with you guys. Okay time for total truth the girl in this thread is my current gf. The other girl I posted is one of my kinda friends and that is the whole truth.
The reason is the response I get from being a female isn't always the best so I find it best to act like a guy until I can judge the attitude of the forums. That pic is actually one of my friends. I just realized I am coming out as a girl lol.

Why not add the RPG 29 and the RPG 27? that is smuggled across the syrian border to the insurgments. This can penetrate reactive armor but its heavier then the RPG 7.'[R-PUB wrote:dunkellic']actually, there has been one confirmed m1a2 that was knocked out by a single rpg - dont get me wrong, it didnt blew up or so, but it wasn´t operatable - i´ve got an official report somewhere on my harddisk, basically, it was a "golden rpg" - it managed to penetrate the tank at one weak spot and through even more luck knocked out some critical systems.
