Flares!
I think it would be awesome if you guys introduced flares you could make like 2 differnt types one could be a red signal flare and the other could be a regular flare for night maps so you can see.... or just to blind someone with nightvision goggles on.

Great idea.
First of all, welcome to the FORUMS
Wipeout, be a little nicer. How the heck would you kill someone with a flare....
It might be pretty cool on a night map. I especially like the suggestion of infrared flares.
After all, BF2 engine supports dynamic lighting...
Oh, and yes, use the search button!!!!

Wipeout, a point blank headshot with a flare wouldn't even kill you! Why do I know this?

"Trip flare. <insert relevent soldier from "Platoon"'s name here> hole."
"Claymores. Claymores!"
*clack clack boom*

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

I can kill someone by throwing a rock at their head, that hardly makes the rock as deadly as a gun though.Wipeout wrote:if that flare is shot at the guys body (where there isn't a solid bone) there is a likely hood of it embedding itself within your skin, and the flare igniting and burning you to death.. bum bum bum..
Thanks luizinhuu for the find

Flame war... sorry Flare war! got confused when I was reading the replies. We added them to the Pilot Drop Kit back in DC-R had a model done by Silence14 and the same visual effect (smoke, ect) as the Rocket. Did minor damage.
Heres the PROVEN deal on Signal Flare Guns:
Extremely Good Idea on Paper, there is basicaly no CSAR in random play or at all in game, Maps are too small to really need them and we have minimaps that revel friendly locations. - Whoever was right they will only get used as weapons, Hell they did very little damage back in DCR and the only thing they were used for was taking pop shots at other pilots waiting on the Airstrip.
Illumination Flares - Fun idea, might be too much work, only game I know of that did them properly was OFP/ARMA
