TBH, I've never been able to play PR due to connection issues, but now I can and I've been blown away by it. Every single server I've been in I've hopped into a squad, and no matter how many times we've failed to take the objective we keep pushing for it. The people that play this mod are truely awesome.

0.5 has lead to much more "WTF?!? Who the hell shot me?!?"... Even when I take it slow and try to monitor my surroundings all the time I still get nailed from who-knows-where and then throw a little hissy fit.
But when it works, when you're in a team that really pulls together, this game is just spectacular. Along with the extra heartache I've have many of the most awesome games in my long online gaming history just in the last week or two.
In the end it's worth every minute (even if I don't think so at the time).

The opposing faction, no matter how well it does loses about 98% of the time on these maps. Muttrah, Operation Phoenix, Fallujah, that damn map where the GB start at the bottom of a mountain and must fight up it against the PLA, and quite a few others. A handful of little annoying bugs made it through. Not being able to shoot through fences for one. Some Chinese weapon animations seem incomplete and sloppy. I am puzzled by the laggy feeling by a lot of maps and disconnections. A patched .5 would be great.
.5 polished up a lot of rough spots that .4 had, but brought along some of its own baggage.
I also played operation Phonix now, and as US it’s hard isn’t it. But! It can be done.
Think i played the US side on the map about 10 times now and only experienced to win one time. The one time winning US team i played on didn’t have a commander in that round, so i guess that the MEC team was not that good again. We did seem to have some competent squad leaders who continually attacked the same targets over and over again and thereby keeping the same pressure on the same targets.
Also it seemed that the squads capping a flag also defended the very same flag.
So I guess I was just lucky to play on such a team.
I’ve played as commander on Phonix once for a US team also, I lost big time! The MEC team also had a commander in that round though, so US team wasn’t the only one with an eye in the sky.
But yes, Phonix is a true teamwork map when it comes to the US side. No doubt about that.

Well i haven’t experienced that yet. Some few do yes, but not everyone? I’ve seen a lot fewer players in the rear trying to get the gear in 0.5 than before. Remarkable fewer.Prodical wrote:"...The most annoying thing I've seen about this mod is the fact that everyone just sits by the main CP or an APC waiting to get one of the bloody two sniper rifles we can have...needless to say I'm about to start shooting my own team."
Maybe I’ve just been lucky so far?

Things can only seem to get better, PR is IMO heading in the right direction and most importantly has an intelligent/knowledgable developer roster who really listen to the feedback they're given. On top of which players will eventually get the hang of all the new dynamics which take longer to learn then in most games/mods and the entire atmosphere and teamplay will be all the better for it. Players at the end of the day really make this mod, and as PR grows older, hopefully veteran numbers will increase."
I agree.

Its pretty good and everything, but it gets annoying when only one squad on your team uses the rally point, and its not your squad, and its full. So most of the time, I'm forced to hoof it to the action. But still, the rally points make capping cps easier since you don't have to worry about the enemy respawning while you are stuck around the flag.

Yes Phonix really need a good Teamwork.
I´ve won on this Map with US two Times and it work
The last one was last night. We really owned the MEC. We had two great Leaders on US Side. *spacecadett* and Bob.Dob.
Space and me are on the Waterside, Bod with his Squad owned MEC at the Train.
I was Crewman in the APC. I drive the APC over to the Gasstation my Lead set there a rally point. After this he and the rest of the Squad goes to the Village and Construktion Side to destroy all the enemy Rally points. I drive the APC behind the Village and leave the APC.
After this we go to the first MEC flag. Destroyed also there there Rally points and after this we capt the Flag.
Now Mec has a big Problem all reinforcements must spawn at the Slams and must take the long way to the front
Our reinforcements could spawn behinde the Village, who was the next Flag for the US, so we owned them also at Village.
Bob cap Construktion Side lol and after this we Strike the MEC back into the Slums.
Ok every time i Play this Map i go with the APC and my Lead over the Gastation. But this works only if there is a second great Squad who set a Rally point behind the Train and cap this Flag.
The Secret is the same as it is on all other Maps.
- Squadleader who set Rally points on smart positions.
- And a Crewman who drives the APC unter cover to a Smart and SAVE position.
And if you have Artillery on a Map like Ejode a Commander.
I played alot on .5 Comander, i search the enemy Rally points give the Leaders the Position an say them they should call there Artillery. And if you have inside your Team a SMART Squad with Hevy AT they owned the APC´s and all the Tanks.
LoL
The enemy has no Rally Point no APC near the front and they must Spawn at there Main Base. Will mean you OWNED them and strike them Back to the own Main base.
Year Michael we need you *g*, and i need you as Commander on my Team *g*. Nice to see that you are back in business
BUT
It happend also as Commander that i had IDIOTS as Squadleader on my Team and there were unable to call Artillery over the hole map.
And they were unable to set Rally points over the hole Round.
And some IDIOT´s who think the APC is a battleship.
One Time i was Commander, i told the SL´s that they should set Rally points for there Squad. LoL nothing happends.
There was also a Squad with the Name "Tank"
I says to them to park the APC under cover as Spawnpoint. LoL nothink happends. They killed 8 APC´s if they tried to use the APC as Battleship. LoL and with the two Tanks they don´t shoot with them because they must repeair them over the hole time. LOL
This Temwork pissed we really off and i quit the Game

I sometimes feel like just taking the APC and driving it off to somewhere I feel is proficient and then never getting out of the drivers seat.

I played in that game you are speaking about
I joined approximately in the middle of the round when Gardens were taken and heard you very well on VOIP as you are cursing like an old sea wolf and damning TANK squad to deepest hell (Ok I am exaggerating a bit
)
I was looking for a VOIP squad but either they were full or there was no teamwork in those where was a free slot, so I created my own.
As I am not a good SL I was not much of a help there. Sorry, I will train more

That was my squad (Armor), and in all fairness, the main squad was 4 people, the rest was random people coming in and out. I didn't use the APC once, it was Bob.Dob, me, a [FR] guy. and someone else who I forgot, and we were always in tanks, anyone in an APC wasn't under my jurisdiction. Also, I couldn't even hear you through the roar of the engine, the firing of the tank, and my gunner telling me to go forward and stop.
We did fairly well, we took out something like 4 tanks, 3 APCs, 4 Humvees, and a bunch of infantry.

Oh Leo i am sure that some People are doing a nice job in our Team. I also saw Bob in your Squad and he is a perfect Tank Commander. But as Commander the only think i saw from your Squad was the Player who was not under your SL Control who drives the APC from the Main Baise straight into Death.
And i´am sure with two Tanks (4Player) on Engenier and one Heavy AT Player and a SL who set a RP for his Squad and called Supplies for the Heavy AT. You were able to kill all enemy Tanks and APC on the West Side.
And if you called next Time the Artillery, to kill enemy Anti Tank Infantry Squads, or to kill the Enginear behind the enemy Tank.
Your Squad will be a killer Squad and a big help for the rest of the Team.
BTW
I was playing with Bob as Infantry Squad on US Side and we were West of Gardens. Bob as SL called Supplies and Artillery again and again. I and perhaps a second Squadmember take the Heavy AT and with all the supplies witch Bob called, we killed all Tanks and APC´s. Will mean if there is a Tank squad on the other side without Artillery Support, AT Support, RP who will never have any chance against a enemy Squad like Bob´s AT Infantry Squad.

We didn't really need rally points because the majority of the time we were in tanks, I did call Arty a couple of times and wiped out the enemy defense. The problem for me was that I was waiting for 2 more people so that I could have 1 engie to drive the car and one heavy-AT, but no one would use VoIP or would stay long enough, and I didn't have time to kick people that were messing around :/, it was a fun round nonetheless (except for you , haha)-=TB=-Esso wrote:Oh Leo i am sure that some People are doing a nice job in our Team. Heres a tip guys, go MEC/PLA/Insurgents.
You will find most of the single minded/Nilla players all hoard USMC, just like vbf2. They are still drawn to spec ops because it was best in nilla and dont understand that one shot from a G3 kills them (LOL thats pricless). As a result, no voip or t/w comes out of it. The players that know and show you will find Opfor.

BTW i add a second part to my last Post. So sry you posted your reply until i edit my post *g*
Yes the Heavy AT is the point*g*
The Squadmember spawn on you and how can they request Heavy AT if there is no RP near to your position *g*.
I think the best way is as SL set a RP near to your Tanks. And the SL request the Heavy AT from the RP and scout the Deseret for the Tanks *g*
As SL with Heavy AT you can scout, call Artillery/Supplies and give your Tanks over VOIP orders.
BTW try out what happend to a Squad Member if he spawn at his SL inside a Tank with a wrong Kit*g* if he try to leave the Tank.
Also thats why a RP is so important for the Squad. *g*
