hud - PR DEVS take a look
ive been working on the hud. it would look good in your mod!
Tell me what you think and if you want the code to incorporate it in PR...
it has a static bar on the bottom left with squad/commander info, rate of fire, clip count and stamina bar.
For the sake of reality the mini map has been removed along with the ability bar, health bar, ammo bar, ammo count and reload bar.

It can easily be tweaked to remove or add extra items so give me a holla

I see no reason why the vehicle huds cant be coded the same.
Ill see what I can do with the soldiers health as well.
Got a bit distracted for now removing the soldiers nametags.
Thats nearly done now. Basically friendly tags are removed and theres a long delay for the fade in of the enemy tags when you scope in on a soldier.
I cant get it to stop the fade in of friendly tags....yet
You can have that coding as well
. Its only implemented at a map level for now but Im gonna try it at a higher level tonite so you dont have to edit the map files to use it.
Ill see what I can do with the soldiers health as well.

I dont think I can code in a soldiers body for the players health.
Maybe a more experienced coder would be able to.
As far as Im concerned I can code the health bar back in. In the place of the commander/squad icon and text, then code the commander/squad bar back into its original vanilla bf2 place...
i am also thinking of removing the player icons from the big map except for the commander screen. Obviously you wouldnt be able to tell where your team was which is a bad thing especially for general non clan games. it would be realistic though
Also with my current version of the hud it has no ticket info apart from on the commander screen - do you want them on the normal players hud or not?
maybe the players teams ticket count but not the enemies???

Ive played with it on single player. its fun. aside from the ticket info, which Ill be putting back on soon, theres nothing missing.
Its more realistic and I dont miss any of the removed features.
Ive gotta do some vehicle huds in the same style then Ill send it to the PR team to see if they like it...

good idea ill take a look when ive done the vehicle huds.
What does everyone else think of removing the other on screen objects:
the medic and repair icons when u call for a medic/engineer which show where the nearest medic/engineer is on screen
the armor levels on a vehicle when u are an engineer going to repair a vehicle
the soldier health levels when you are a medic going to heal/revive a player
the squad order icons (attack here! etc)
I think they all should be removed
