JS sniper rifle

Post by k30dxedle »

So, I'll start it off with a defuser: yes, I did UTFSE. My results: too short of an entry for JS, a 9/11 thread and "can everybody speak english" for Jian She, nothing for Jianshe, and 43 results, none of them containing this, for "Chinese sniper rifle".

It could replace the SV-98 for PLA.

Of course, I'm not going "ZOMG DO IT NOW PL0X", but it would be nice to have in a future relase. :)

Well, it is kinda sexy... What sniper rifle does the People's Republic use IRL?

Edit: Oh, and the QBU-88. The one in vBF2.

Nice. This could be the prime canidate for the PLA's Sniper Kit in the future.

Been discussed among the devs already, but not here on the public forums. If we can find enough references to make a decent model and code its behavior, sure. :)

Just FYI the production version doesn't have the muzzle brake; no word on official adoption and nomenclature/type classification by PLA, yet. I am not a modeler so I don't know how many it would take, but I believe we have those in our inventory of reference photos. Thanks, though! :)

Honestly, what is wrong with the current kit? Is a new model really necessary?

Edit: Oh, my bad, this is for the sniper kit not marksman.

Well I think the first two can be discounted.

The first one, the CF05 9mm is stated to have "lost the bid" for the Chinese SMG.

The second one, the JS 9mm seems to be made for police forces and available on the export market.

However, the JS 5.8mm SMG looks like it might see military use (Edit: Actually, after further reading the article, it states that it has been adopted into service as of 2005, designating it the "Type 05".

Chinese Spec Ops anyone?

According to the article it has started to be fielded and was type-classified as QCW-05.

Yeah. But the QBU-88 isn't a sniper rifle, is it? It's more of a DMR. But then again, the Chinese have their own way of doing things...

No, I'm saying the QBU-88 is a DMR, but maybe the Chinese don't have a true sniper rifle, so they use the QBU-88 for that role?

That site is perfict for all kinds of information on the PLA Army, Navy, AirForce and Marines. They even have a SF style unit we could add into the mod.

Too bad it's passworded now, for who knows that reasons.

It is asking me for a user name and password to enter the site? WTF? Does anyone know what they are?

Who knows maybe they decided that the public didn't need to see it.
