0.5 AR recoil Balancing - poll

Post by cablecarandsnakefight »

I was just interested in actually getting some numbers on what the forumites think about the new balancing (ie more punch recoil wise) done to the assault rifles, especially seeing how I find myself on the other end, not liking it very much. :|

Weigh your response. If you for example really like it as a whole, but have an objection to some specific detail, then go with "like it". But post about it.
I left out a neutral, or something allowing for a "both have merits" response since you'd probably go with "like it" and then go in depth in a post if you felt it necessary.
The split like/dont like responses are for extracting some info, and cutting other responses, like strong and inbetween.

The angle is part vs. 0.4 because of relevance.

Like it much better. Feels like I'm actually firing a rifle now, with all of the assault rifles.

I like the recoil, its more realistic.

It encourages people to use single shot rather than rattle a mag off.

I must admit I do like the three round burst though......

I like it, it's either have it the way it is now, or bring back the nilla type deviation, and we all know how much that sucks.

I like it, like someone here said "feels like you are shooting with "real" rifle

I like accuracy of almost all rifles. QBZ is an exception, it should be more precise I think.

I dont kid myself it'd happen, but you could bring back 0.4, which was neither nilla or what we have now. :)

But as said; I dont think most people want that. I, personally, just feel it's really hard to pull off follow up shots now, even on single. That it takes an unreasonable or in any case annoying amount of effort which, again, for me, takes away from the gameplay.

I like it right now, I feel like all the guns have their own distinct feeling and I can hit anything up to about 100 meters iron sights without too much of a problem.

My only gripe is the QBZ and I don't think it's the recoil I don't like, but it's the deviation. I know it's firing a slightly larger round then the M-16, but the 3 round burst on the QBZ is like the 3 round burst we had on the .3 AK-101.

Like it but QBZ recoil on burst is too much and single shot M16 seems a bit much as well.

I think the recoil of the 5.56 rifles is too much. The whole point of the 5.56mm round is to be albe to file more rounds quickly and accuratly than the old 7.62mm rifles which required more time between shots to be accurate due to the imense recoil. The balance between these to rounds should be the 5.56 is weaker but you can put 3 rounds into the target in the time it takes a 7.62 to put 1 round in, but they should do similar amounts of damage, ie 3x5.56=1x7.62.

I thought the point of 5.56 was it was a lighter round meaning more penetration to body armour and you could carry more ammunition with you. 7.62 will knock you down for sure but it's also alot bulkier and heavier.
