Capturing a flag in BF 2 is very straight forward. If there are equal number of players, the flag doesn't go anywhere. If one team has more people than the other on the flag, they capture it. The more people you have on the flag, the faster it gets captured. Some important flags take longer to capture than others.
I am still confused about certain aspects to capturing flags and have read the player's guide. So here are my understandings/questions.
1. If one enemy is in the flag radius, they will start to turn the flag neutral. But once it's neutral, they will need a second team mate to actually capture it.
2. If there is any enemy presence in the flag radius (even 1 enemy player vs 10 friendly players), the flag can't be captured by your team.
3. Does the amount of players affect how fast the flag can be captured?
4. We tested flags in Mao Valley <sp> and found a weird bug? If a player neutralized the flag by themselves, they couldn't capture it (which is the way it should be). But if they left the flag radius, the flag would be captured.
I respect any mod team for doing what they do and especially to the one's the make a mod different as PR is doing. But the one thing to keep in mind is not making it too hard to learn to play in the first place.
My friends and I are having this issue where we spend more time learning how to play the mod than actually playing it. I am sure things will get easier as time goes on, but I am concerned that to be relatively successful at this mod, you have to learn too many details.
