Amazing ability!

Post by DirtyHarry88 »

We all know getting killed can sometimes cause weird things such as leaping 10 feet in the air, but as an insurgent on basra getting killed with gunfire (NOT explosions) I have on 2 occasions literally flown about a quarter of the way across the map!!

WTF!?

Well, the BF2 physics engine has known to be glitchy...i once played Karkand and the physics was so messed up that when guys died they flew 20 feet back and stuck to walls.

lol I seen that the other night on Basrah, me and another member of my US squad were capping industry and when it went neutral a spawn car came flying inside. An insurgent jumped out and I shot him and he went flying upwards and bounced off the roof like he had C4 under his arse! :D

Flying 20ft away by rifle fire sounds so hollywood-ish.

I've noticed that it does this more often with head shots.

I was shot once and went flying miles and miles straight up into the air.

I think it has to do with the damage of the weapon. For example a headshot is a one shot kill therefore has high damage, thats why they fly into the air.

its not as bad as spawning ontop of the carrier and falling to your death in muttrah city. nevertheless, that would be annoying

its cuz of crappy physics combined with 'stronger' weapons combined with bad server code. hopefully some of itll be fixed by the patch.

this is difficult when multiple squads place their RPs near each other. you just can't tell which one is yours on the map when they are so close together.

Got hit by an SPR

My new favorite past time is reviving people once their kit has gone away. It's so funny because they stand up with no kit, no weapon, and their arms are straight out like they are trying to fly. They look just like the "zombies" that you see standing around dead, except they're alive.. and moving, and controlled by the player.

Scarecrows, are the best.
Wasn't me.

And is that fun for the player as well?

No, I think he means you've still got your kit but it doesn't show on the model.

I also occasionally see scarecrows that are dead just stuck in the ground for a whole game sometimes.

Me, ChavmanDrew and Kobrakai were tanking it up as Insurgents on Al Basrah, and as we blew up the destructable fence at Facility to pass through, my tank leaped into the air at this angle front first ( / ) (Side on view) about double the height of that building with the under-pass that was next to us. We hit the ground on the front of our tracks and slammed the *** back to earth. Oddly enough it didn't take long to repair.
